This product taught me to read most recent reviews first
I bought this changing pad because of the non-skid bottom. Shortly after ordering it and just after it was too late to abort the shipment, I realized that the most recent reviews, rather than the "most helpful," all said that the changing pad that was shipped appeared to be different than what was advertised because there was no non-skid bottom. Mine arrived and alas, no non-skid bottom. I looked on the Simmons website and it seemed that they no longer advertise the pad they sell as non-skid. I emailed Amazon asking about it and instead of responding, Amazon automatically shipped me another one. I presume customer service assumed the first shipment was a problem with warehouse distribution rather than a problem with the description on Amazon. This really pissed me off because another review had noted that exactly the same thing happened to her and the second shipment was exactly the same as the first. To add insult to injury, the second one came with an email saying that I better return the first one within a certain time frame or I would be charged for both. So, now, I was stuck having to do a return on at least one. I called and complained and the customer service agent with whom I spoke on the phone was very helpful. She made some price adjustments that made it worth my while to try the pad anyway and compensate me for the wasted time returning the second shipment. She also told me she would have Amazon look into the inaccurate description. Writing this review three months later, the title of the item is still "with non-skid bottom." I can't remember the exact product page but it does seem that they have edited the product description but to me the title is still misleading. Perhaps they still consider this bottom non-skid somehow, perhaps they consider the straps to fasten it to the furniture a non-skid bottom, perhaps they just do not have a good system for editing the titles when the product changes. Whatever the reason, I do not believe that this should be advertised has having a non-skid bottom. That said, I ended up very happy with my changing pad. I just put some of that non-slip grip shelf liner under it to keep it from slipping. My daughter absolutely loves it. Sometimes she will get fussy or cry and I will put her on the changing pad to change her or get her ready for bed and she will start smiling and cooing immediately. When she went through the really fussy in the evenings period from 4-6 weeks we would feed her on the pad because it was the only way she would eat. Some people have written that they were unhappy that it started to break down around this time. At 3mo, mine has held up very well so far. Given the fact that it gets used so many times per day and gets peed on occasionally, if mine breaks down soon too, I won't think it is unreasonable replacement time frame. The only thing is that I might try the Summer Infant because it looks pretty similar and is a bit cheaper.

Perfect Fit
Didn't measure the diaper changing table beforehand and I'm relieved and happy that it fit perfectly. Looks good and feels good!

My son loves laying on this changing table mat!
This is pretty easy to clean you just wipe it down. you cannot machine wash this product and there’s nothing to takeoff the smell if you wanted to which is kind of a downside for me I wish I could wash the mat Cover. But I guess that’s why they make fabreeze. It is in no way soft to the touch or squishy, it’s moderately firm and has a texture, so you do need to put a sheet on it. But when you’re buying for a baby remember firm is a best option.

Yes, the bottom is NON-SKID!
I titled my review that way because, initially, I thought I was sent the wrong item. I turned it to see the bottom and it didn't appear anything special or that it was non-skid. I didn't think Amazon would let me down, so I opened the package enough to feel the bottom. Um, yeah, it was rubbery just as a rug stop would be. I was glad I did that. I always go back and read the reviews of people who scored the product low with 1's & 2's. I laughed because they thought the same thing I did, only it seems they didn't bother to actually give the product a chance. I'm glad I did. I put this changing pad on my Ikea dresser. It has a wood top and true to it's word, the product wouldn't shift or slide. After putting the changing cover on, it became a little less stable around the edges, but surely when you put a baby on the center, that non-skid surface will be working! And if this isn't convincing enough, there are the two tabs for anchoring the changing pad to the dresser/changing table (which dresser/table should be anchored to wall already) making this product completely safe (so long as you don't turn your back on your baby). So please give the product a chance. I assure you the bottom is a skid preventing surface. Give it a feel. I'm ready to pop with this baby, but am sure this product will do it's duty when the time comes!

No joke, it will NOT skid ever
This changing pad is really great. Here are a few observations: UPDATE 2013: After 3 years of DAILY use, the pad has worn down. The top plastic cover has ripped in several places now. So while it was good it does not last 3 years. However daily use for 3 years on a $20 product is really not bad at all so I'll leave it at 5 stars. It comes with two 4~6 inch straps on one side so that you can secure it to a wall or furniture using some screws, and then a long locking strap in the middle to secure your child. I never use any of the straps though. Why? The non-skid bottom really really works. It will not skid! I have no reason to use the furniture anchors because this thing will not skid. And the contour is enough to keep my small baby in the middle. (Of course as she gets bigger I will need to use the straps.) Also, the pad is very light so I carry it around the house and use it wherever my daughter needs to be changed. Warning about using a changing pad cover: When we put a changing pad cover on it, it lifted up the corners just enough to make the pad slide around. To take full advantage of the non-skid bottom, you cannot use a changing pad that covers any part of the bottom surface. The pad doesn't really need a cover since it is waterproof by itself. We have spilled things on it, and it cleans up right away with a rag.

Soft diaper changer
This is a nice sized diaper changer and it’s very soft for baby. There’s been a few times I had to clean it which was super easy. The only downfall is when it first arrived my toddler tried to sit on it and it completely bent in half which has caused it to be a little less stable but it still does the job. I’m also not sure if it’s bigger then the average sized changers because I noticed most of the changing pads covers I have don’t fit and are too small.
