Great dog bed for a crate
Purchased this dog bed for my 35lb Dalmatian puppy. It is a good size for her, see photos. It fits perfectly inside "Internet's Best Wood & Wire Dog Crate" and measures about 29.5"Lx21"Wx3.5"D. The two-layers of foam are firm, but comfortable, if you push your hand into it for 30 seconds or so, it does do that memory foam molding "thing" for a few seconds, but I wouldn't say it's quite name-brand human bed quality. My dog has no complaints however. It does not show very much compression after two months of nightly use, just a little in the corners from the crate. The outer cover is not waterproof, but is easily removable and washable. Be sure to zip it up before you wash it and dry it on low or air dry to make it last longer. It is moderately resistant to staining, but does need to be washed periodically. It is pretty soft to the touch and not super tight on the foam. If your dog likes to chew things this might make it easier for them to grab a bite, but I haven't had any problems with chewing after a couple months of use. It also does have a small zipper along two of the bottom edges that dogs might like to chew on. Keeping it snugly in a crate keeps it from being accessible to wandering teeth. The bottom of the lining has a non-slip grippy texture that keeps it in place pretty well. It has an inner waterproof lining, which keeps liquids out of the foam quite effectively. I tested its waterproof ability by putting a puppy pad under the liner and pouring a cup of water on the liner and letting it sit for 20 minutes. The liner repels the water making it bead up, and no water reached the puppy pad in this time. Several puppy accidents have also not breached it after a few hours. The zipper on the inner lining is not the best quality, and there are some stray threads inside the lining that could jam it, but I do not plan to remove that often. You may want to trim these loose threads yourself to prevent zipper jams. Overall, this bed is perfectly suited for use in a crate and meets my puppys needs. It is a great value for the price. I can't seem to find anywhere to buy additional outer covers but hope that they offer them, because I expect the foam will outlast the cover. PROS Good size for a crate Comfortable memory foam Washable soft outer cover Waterproof inner lining CONS Inner lining zipper is a little sketchy Loose threads in the liners could jam the zippers (recommend trimming them off with scissors) Unable to find extra covers for purchase separately. More colors would be nice UPDATE 11/14/18: The outer lining has survived repeated washings with no problems. I have always air dryed it, which takes a few hours. Still works and looks great!

We got this to fit into another item previously purchased, but it was too big. So we placed it under the item and our dog loves it. We used to have a problem with him getting on our bed in the middle of the night, but he no longer does this. I have noticed how is seems to be having a deeper and more restful sleep.

Very comfy, and two covers!
I got this bed because my dog has epilepsy and has been soiling his bed more and more often, so I needed something waterproof. This bed just came yesterday and I am already so happy with it. It comes very condensed in a package, and mine came up to normal size after just a few hours. I ordered the medium size, and we have a standard medium sized crate, and it fits exact. I did have to squeeze a little into the corners, but I think the longer my boy lays on it, the more it’ll squish down a little. But it gives complete edge-to-edge coverage for the entire crate floor, which means my boy will be safe and won’t end up stuck underneath it in the event of a seizure. The covers are great. It comes with two covers. The first layer is a plastic like cover that will protect the mattress from wetness. And then you have the soft comfy cover to put over that one. I like the security of knowing that the mattress won’t get soaked or smelly when my boy has a seizure and soils. And if he goes #2 during (which he often does) I can just zip off the outer cover and take it outside to hose it off, and then put it in the wash. I can wipe down the waterproof cover and then my boy can keep his bed with maybe an extra blanket or towel while the cover is in the wash. Before, I had to put his whole bed in the washer, and so he would be without it until it was clean. I love the thickness of this mattress. I can tell that it will keep him very comfy and keep his old joints off the floor. He was very excited to lay on it the first time. It gives me peace of mind to know that he is comfy, safe, and that my cleaning will be simplified now when he soils. Thank you!!

None of my 3 dogs will lay on it.
Bought two of these beds and thought they'd be perfect for my two old dogs, but they both refused to lay on them and laid next to them. Adopted a new young dog two months ago and he won't lay on them either. Only thing I can think of is they don't like the smell. Bought the cheaper beds with batting/stuffing, and they use those regularly. Talked to another dog owner recently who had the same experience with memory foam beds.

Good for senior dogs, not just puppies
I can see why a lot of people would want this for puppies but I have a Pomeranian who will soon be 15 years old. She's always been house trained but now in her twilight years she has accidents, sometimes even when asleep. I am so glad to have found this bed that is water proof and has a removable washable cover. The bed itself is rather hard in my opinion but my dog only weighs 8 lbs and it's softer than just the floor. The smell of the bed the first week was pretty bad. I had to spray it with air freshener several times but now it seems to be fine. It would be nice if it had a headrest but for now I just scoot it up against a wall with a towel rolled up behind it for her to have something to lean against. EDIT: I wanted to edit this review. I came home from work yesterday and my senior dog had had an accident on the bed. I removed the cover and the bed inside was nice and dry. I put the cover in to wash on gentle cycle with cold water and dried on low heat for 20 minutes. It came out smelling fresh and clean again and it was very easy to fit back onto the bed. I'm very happy with this purchase!

Falling apart after 2 months
We bought these two months ago. Unfortunately they’re already falling apart and our return window is closed. These are kept in my dogs’ kennels and it looks like the top fabric is so incredibly thin and weak that their claws have ripped through it. They don’t have especially sharp claws... i’m disappointed that these aren’t more durable. Two stars because the inserts are comfortable, waterproof and I like that these are machine washable. By the way, I haven’t washed these yet. I just pulled them out to wash them for the first time and found they were all ripped up.

No price-drop guarantee
I bought this bed and three days later, the price drops by $4. Not a big deal, but when buying from most companies, they will issue a credit for the price difference. Not Amazon. Yes, they did offer a free return and then I’d have to re-order, but that’s a waste of time and resources and I don’t even know if the bed would end up in a landfill like so many returned products do. Diss appointed in Amazon’s decision with this purchase. As for the bed, it puffed up overnight and it seems very supportive. Not sure how it will be in the long run.
