I’ve had this for 6 days and have already noticed a difference in the air quality in my shop. Pros: PRICE! Same look and design as other brands Uses same filters as other brands Cons: Did not include chain for hanging mount Did not specify chain size or quick link size needed I hung this from a 14’ ceiling using 5/16 lag hooks, 5/16” chain, and 5/16” quick links. Used my UTV winch to lift it to the ceiling which made my back happy. I’m very happy so far. If you’re on the fence between this and other brands, take the chance and go with this one. I’ll try to edit this review in a few months.

Good Filter
The filter does exactly what its supposed to do. It filters the air. Seems to work great, but it is a little louder than I expected. Not terrible, but it definitely makes you talk louder when its running. It is heavy. So expect to need help installing it on the ceiling. Packaging is not designed for shipping. The first one I received looked like it had been shipped through a land war and the unit was basically destroyed. Fortunately, Amazon returned it with zero issues and, the second one arrived in good shape. I did take the advice of another reviewer and replaced the outer filter with one from K & N (K&N 12x24x1 Air Filter, Merv 11, Washable Air Filter). Fit like a glove and seems to work great.

Fine purifier but arrived damaged
I think this is a fine air purifier. Gives a good breeze in my 24 x 32 shop (though I haven't yet worked long enough with it to see how well it picks up air borne dust). Fairly quiet, though not whisper quiet as I had hoped. About 64db on low and 68db on high as measured from an average of three non-calibrated sound meter apps. The sound is definitely noticeable when it is the only thing running in the shop. There are several of these purifiers offered by different manufactures (Shop Fox, Jet, Grizzly) which all appear to be identical in size and spec's except for the color of paint. I suspect they are all manufactured in the same facility overseas with tiny tweaks. This one seems to be the cheapest. I was mostly disappointed in the condition of the item when it arrived. It arrived on a rainy day and once cardboard gets wet, forget about it. So the box was mush but It wasn't packed very well to begin with. This thing is made with very thin gauge sheet metal - maybe 24-26g. You don't have to try hard to dent it or warp it all out of shape - which was what had happened. Since the box was trashed by the rain and I didn't want to go through the hassle of re-packing it and shipping it pack, I just figured I can straighten everything out well enough so at least the outer filter could fit in without crimping. Thankfully, the inner, expensive, 1 micron filter is mounted in an aluminum frame and was not damaged. In fact, without that frame inside the sheet metal, The sheet metal box of this purifier probably would have been more mangled. After getting the case straightened and just as I was about to hang the thing, I noticed the cord had also been damaged by a corner of the case. Dang! So, I had to deal with that, as well. Anyway, it's a fine air purifier for the money and except for my little troubles I would purchase again. JR

woodturner workshop
I've had this for about a month now. Works well in clearing the air in my wood turning workshop. The pre-filter gets pretty dirty very quickly, but using a shop vac to clean the large filter every now and then keeps the air flowing nicely. Much quieter than I expected it to be. No problems with any of the functions yet. Overall very happy with this purchase.

Makes a Big Difference in the Shop and on Projects
I love the effect this unit has on the worksite. In the shop, it makes a noticeable difference removing particulates and even odors from the air. If you've ever been up late at night coughing sawdust and other nonsense up - or feeling that late-night difficulty breathing after a long day of work, this thing is a sleep saver. I use it in the shop for woodworking projects and I use it in rooms I'm working on for weekend DIY projects. Drywall dust - no problem. Sawdust - piece of cake. I also use a good HEPA vacuum on as many tool that will allow it, and I vacuum often when I make a mess, but this unit takes care of the lighter stuff that floats in the air. In the woodworking shop, I've always loved the smell of the wood, but that's not so great for the lungs. The unit is a little noisy, but I usually have hearing protection in when my tools are running anyway. I barely notice it. I also tend to keep it on low when I'm physically in the room, but bump it up to high when I break for lunch, a bathroom break, or when closing down for the day. A good hour on the timer on High when I leave the shop or work area is great for clearing the room. It really does work extraordinarily well for this purpose & the room I worked in usually smells fresher when it's done than it did before I started working for the day in the first place. It's big and bulky and not the best for transporting between rooms - the way i use it. But after using it, I no longer work in a closed room without it. This unit does not replace the need for eye, ear, or respiratory protection - especially when working with hazards like pressure treated wood or other chemically treated wood products. It just helps a lot for scrubbing the air back to clean while you're working and after you're done.

Works great, acceptable noise, stupid easy setup
The first one arrived horrible damaged (thanks, UPS). Returned it, got the new one quickly. Unboxed and set it up and within seconds had it cleaning the air in my wood shop. I haven't hung it from the ceiling yet, and it's sitting on two 5-gallon bucks. Works great. The air moves nicely, and feels fresher. I've had it about a week and a half now and turn it on whenever I'm sanding or cutting, and leave it run about an hour after I'm done. The dust collection system gets the major stuff and this helps keep down the loose, small dust. Perfect.

Great system for 1000sft shop.
The only reason I gave the unit 4 star review was because the remote control was damaged during the delivery. I had to call WEN technical support and request for a new remote. They were very helpful and professional and sent me a new right away, hopefully arrives soon! Otherwise the system works good so far and it was easy to install . I have a 1000sqf shop with 12 feet ceilings and it does the job it supposed to do for the area. I personally hung the unit 3 feet from the ceiling so I still have 9 feet from the floor to the unit. It does require at least a 7 feet clearance from the floor and at least 3 inches away form the walls. Try to install it to the longest wall of your shop in a corner if possible where you still have access to change filters and do maintainance on the unit if necessary. I also installed an 15 amp electrical outlet just for the unit so there are no issue if your running the unit with other tools plugged in.

Auto Start is an Issue
So this product is a decent price and I have a couple of other Wen products that work just fine. However, there seems to be a problem with the units auto starting. I've seen some other reviewers have the same problem and I'm hoping the new unit being sent to me doesn't do the same thing. I'm wondering if the remote being RF is causing the issue. Maybe picking up other RF signals? It's definitely easy to setup and get going as well as pushing a ton of air even at the lowest setting. This could replace a non industrial fan easily it moves so much air. Edit:. My second unit also has the phantom starts but I'm keeping it because of the price vs competition. I have a smart wifi plug it can go into so that will be my solution. However, if it was a auto shutdown issue instead, I'd be returning it quick fast.

Worth the money
Have been using in my 30ft by 30ft shop for a few months and does a good job. I'm just a hobby woodworker but the dust generated from sanding and cutting was just getting too uncomfortable. Although I have a 1200cfm central dust collector on my table saw and chop saw, and sanding table - it doesn't collect all the fine particles - this unit does a pretty good job. I turn it on low when working in the ship and as another owner did I put on a mask at the end of the day, turn this unit up to high speed and use my compressor to blow the dust thats settled into the air and I set the timer for a few hours. The amount of dust in the shop is significantly reduced.
