It's not the Ridgid... but it's also half the price

It actually works very well. Feels strong. The only gripe is a lack of miter gauge. Difficult to hold the wood true to the sander. I use fixtures to do this, but would have paid an extra $50 for this feature.

Almost perfect

I build guitars and am a big fan of Wen. I've got this, a big drillpress, and a lather. This is fantastic for final shaping or guitars, and a huge bargain to boot, and it's been put through its paces in my shop. I've got no issues with reliability, and changing from spindle to belt takes about 30 seconds. It works great for 99% of what I do. However, it doesn't have a miter slot like the similar Ridgid sander, which makes fine-tuning miters impossible on this machine. For a general carpenter, I'd probably go for the Ridgid over this machine for that reason.

WEN Does it agai

Great product for the money. WEN always seems to make a quality product that’s affordable. Their customer service and tech support deal are also remarkable. I own a few of there products such as this bench top sander and a variable speed drill press. The Bench Top sander performs well and is easy to use. Functional storage makes keeping track of your sanding tubes easy as can be. My only complaint is I wish their colors were black and orange lol. Not a huge fan of orange but I’ll survive lol. If your unsure of WEN as a company I can promise you that you won’t be disappointed. Give them a try and see for yourself!

Nice tool at a reasonable price

I just got the tool but I have had time to do some work on parts for a child's rocking chair. I have tested everything and all parts fit and function as they should. It wasn't necessary to adjust anything. The tracking device on the belt sander responded and changing belts is a breeze. It is necessary to attach a vacuum to deal with the dust. I used my shop vac and the dust was handled just fine.

Great value

Well worth the money. Very easy to assemble. A little bit of a pain to switch back and forth between the spindles and the belt but other than that fairly easy to use. According to the manual you must use some sort of dust collection. I use a shop vac and it works great. Be aware, this is great for small to medium size pieces. Not for larger pieces, especially on the belt. I started making small bandsaw boxes and this machine is perfect for that. A couple of YouTubers have done comparison videos with this and the Ridgid. Check those out for more details on this machine and why I chose it.

Nice but loud

The sander is decent quality for the price. Consider that it is entry level in price. It is easy enough to change over and use. Components store nicely on the machine when not in use. It is quite loud. I'm not sure why they didn't make the dust port to accept a shop vac. It smells a bit like a belt is burning. Hopefully there won't be a problem.

Costs more than you think

I think it's pretty bad form that this product is sold on the Australian website and there's no indication that you need a $100 step down transformer to make it work.

Awesome well built power tool hands down.

After having some initial trouble with this oscillating belt and spindle sander which Amazon customer service looked after the same day it was delivered. I used to have just a spindle sander and decided I would try this new Wen belt and spindle sander and I am so glad that I did. I've given it 5 stars all around, I did not find any issues with the folding platform out of square, but I made sure I mounted the unit solid to the bench. I have used both the belt sander and the spindle sander and both attachments worked great, and extremely easy to switch over from one to the other. I have already referred 2 of my woodworking friends to the Amazon site as they were waiting for me to review before they bought one.

ES BUENA PERO TIENE UN DEFECTO DE DISEÑO

Es buena pero tiene un defecto de diseño, ya que solo puedes lijar madera del largo del rodamiento plano que es como de 20 CM, si tratas de lijar una madera mayor a 30 CM la madera apoyara directamente en los rodamientos y no podras lijar parejo una madera mas larga que 20 cm Solo la recomiendo para usar con las lijas de usillos, si quieres lijar madera un poco más largo mejor comprate un lijadora de banda 4x24 Makita que tambien la puedes poner de lado o boca arriba y te servira mucho mejor

Great value for the money.

This is the second Wen product I have bought. Their products are sturdy and well-designed. I'm not a professional, so I can't comment on how they would work in a shop that runs 24/7, but for a hobbyist who might use the product for a few minutes a day, it's a great machine.

Difficult or almost impossible to set a right angle between belt and the base.

Machine came well packaged and on time. It works quite well with the spindle attachment. This is not the case with the belt attachment. It is almost impossible to set a right angle between the belt and the machine base. Good dust extraction.
