Wen pocket hole jig.

In all fairness I’ve only used it once so far. But it’s so easy to use and for the first time use I got it correctly done. Absolutely love it.

Good value, served the purpose for its intended use.

Used the jig for Miter joint fasteners on a teak table project. Tricky, but served its purpose. I would like to see the manufacturer provide longer replacement sleeves for the drill bit entry so the block does not wear out from the drill bit abrasion, only replace sleeves and the unit will last a long time.

Worth every penny

Completely satisfied with this purchase. Works as intended, Plenty of screws to finish two or three projects. Easy to adjust and the disassembly to use on larger pieces that don't fit in clamp makes is that much versatile ????

Overall great, drill bit could be better

This is a big improvement over the jig I started out with. Setup is easy, depths are clearly labeled. I love the flexibility of being able to adjust how far apart the pocket holes are, this makes it possible to use on narrower work pieces like 1.5”. Screws for mounting the jig are included and the clamp to hold the workpiece in place is nicely padded so I don’t have to have a scrap piece to prevent dents where the clamp meets the work piece. The one improvement I can suggest is the drill bit and collar that are included in the kit. This drill bit seems to splinter the wood around the edges of the pockets holes and because the collar only has 1 set screw, I constantly have to readjust the height and tighten it because it slides off after a couple of holes, usually right in the midst of drilling. Both these annoyances are easily remedied with a bit from another manufacturer but WEN should consider improving their own so this is not necessary. Still pleased overall and will get a lot of use out of this jig.

My biggest complaint is that sawdust get stuck because there is no port for dust collection.

Great value, works well. Wen for the Win!

The holes can be a little messy, but if you follow the directions and get the drill up to full speed before touching the wood, it helps a lot. Driving in the screws can make the board shift a little, but this is common to all pocket screw joints. Just clamp your workpieces firmly and it will help to minimize the movement. This is a great value, and is very sturdy. Wen for the Win!

Bang for the buck can’t be beat

If you’re going to do pocket hole joinery, this is a great way to go. It’s a well built, solid tool that is super easy to use. The clamp is strong, making it easy to position for larger panels and you don’t have to worry about a separate clamp to hold it in place, even though that is an option with the included portable bracket. Some tips for drilling, the cutter bit seems to do better at higher speeds. And quick shot of WD-40 on the shaft of the bit helps reduce wear on the metal to metal contact where the bit contacts the collars.

One height does not fit all thickness

The hole drilled, relative to the end of the wood is fixed for all thickness of wood, and this will sort of work but not very well. For thicker wood e.g. 1.5 inch thick which I was primarily interested in, the screw will be too close to the edge, and the screw does not exit in the middle of the wood either. For the test sample shown in the picture, the maximum thickness of wood under the screw head is approximately 5/8" when the pocket is the shallowest, with the head of the screw flush with the wood (not much of a pocket). In the other picture, it shows that the screw does not quite exit in the middle of the wood. The jig is useable, but does not work well enough for me.

Works as it should

Did not come with 3/8-inch step drill bit with depth stop collar, had to go out and buy one so i could use it. I also used a small file to clean out the burs in the shaft before putting my new bit in it. Price is right if i didn't half to spend another $20 on the bit, and i like that you can adjust the distance for your holes.

there are better than this

the base and toggle clamp are both decent. the base is anodized aluminum milled to decent tolerances. the drill guides are not! the way the drill guides are attached to the base can lead to situations where the guides can rotate with the mounting shaft. its a poor design made worse by the fact the mounting shaft itself can easily be bent depending on where you set your drill guides. there are better jigs than this in this price range. spend your money elsewhere. another wen miss!

Tellement content

Un outil solide qui semble sans prétention mais, qui offre toute la flexibilité pour les trous ensachés. Facile à ajuster, perçage relativement précis. Les instructions du manuel sont un peu imprécises pour le néophyte mais dans l'ensemble avec un peu de réflexion on peut se débrouiller. Amenez-en des projets. Le rapport qualité prix est nettement supérieur aux Gabarits de perçage du fournisseur en bleu.

Better than Kreg

I ended up returning the Kreg I bought from depot because this unit is 100x more robust and accurate. Also way better for 2x lumber since it's got a second angle to work with.
