Amazing product but too big for me.
I purchased this to use on my vintage craftsman table top drill press and this vise is just way too big. I sent it back and purchased a smaller model. It pained me to send it back but it was simply too heavy and too large.

Good workholding value
I bought this vise to hold some <6" parts to drill fixturing holes before machining. Previously, I had to clamp the parts and carefully move them around to do this. Now, I just clamp in the vise and then either hold the vise (it's fairly heavy) or clamp the vise with much less effort than clamping the part. The jaws and ways are nicely ground, much better than a cheap drill press vise. A nice quality vise for this purpose!

Good after some tuning
Solid piece, plenty of heft for the money. Like anything that originates in China, needs to be field stripped and have the burrs knocked down, threads chased (8mm x 1.25) and countersunk, and flat sides stoned before it's ready to be put into service. Once that's done it's a beaut :)

This thing is massive
It is super heavy super sturdy only flaw that I am having is the jaw pads. They have a gap and material can and will get stuck and wedge the jaws. Only reason for the 4 stars

Great value, sturdy, well made
I bought this for gunsmithing purposes and it has served me well so far. The only thing I would highly recommend is that you GREASE THE MAIN SCREW THOROUGHLY before use. My vice arrived with a thin coat of protective oil from the factory - as will yours. So you must grease - I used a basic moly grease - the screw before you use it. Also, check the screw head bearing (the part that connects the screw to the moving part of the vice) for fit. Mine was over-tightened and the vice was consequently difficult to open/close. Use a hex bit to adjust the grub screw at the head of the moving part of the vice (on top) to a degree that allows the screw to operate easily.

What could be a nice vice came with a flaw in mine.
What could be a nice vice came with a flaw in mine. Could send it back but it is usable and not worth the pain. The QC missed the large inclusion in the cast iron bed. The void has slag in it from the casting operation and the makers milled right through it and sold it. The vice works and makes it past the void in the bed, it is just not right....at all! I am sure the others, yours, will be fine. This product has an expensive name -Wilton- but it is made in CHINA and is China quality.

Pretty good vise for the money
I recently bought this vise thinking’Wilton’ quality. Right? Wrong. More Chinese crap. It was either this vise or $600 for a Kurt. I would have gladly paid $100 more for better quality. Well, since I wrote this review I've had a chance to 'really' use this tool. It's not as bad as I made it sound. Actually for what it is and the price point it performs pretty good. I will give it another star. I wish I'd seen the 6" industrial model. Would have bought that one. Thanks

Very well made vise. Too big for my needs though. Bought 4" Wilton low profile instead. I am very happy with my purchase.
