Good idea

Item is a good concept. Will go 2/5. Had to purchase two and send one back for replacement on day one. These were bought to replace old radio shack models that had finally gave up the ghost, after 18 years. Unless completely disabled and you hold the door open to bring through the door or constantly beeps. The magnetic striker that registers the unit and arms it is complete and utter junk. Fell of the mount and is useless.

Easy to activate/deactivate. Just wish it were a little louder. I bought 2. One for the front and one for the back door

Horrendously loud annoying chime. Unfortunately I don’t recommend it.

On line it looked like the one from RadioShack but when it came it was noticeably smaller. But it appeared it was going to be OK but when we used it on time it’s so noisy loud that I cringed every time I opened the door. And it wasn’t that happy little chime like the RadioShack alarm it was a loud annoying sound. Today I noticed that it was kind of hanging there like the adhesive came loose and when I tried to put it back it wouldn’t chime. I am going to have my son-in-law put the real RadioShack alarm from my back door on the front door and use the one I bought from you guys on the back door since nobody goes in and out. ( if I can get it to work) it wasn’t working earlier. I’m sorry to say but I hate it. It looked like the one I have from radio shack but a rude awakening. A waste of money.

Not easy to use

Perfect to deter night wandering for Alzheimer's patient

I bought this because my aging father has Alzheimer's and was wandering at night to walk the dog at 3 a.m. My mom sleeps very soundly so she didn't hear him or know he was outside in the yard. We discovered this when i visited them and i am a light sleeper so i heard him going out at night. We installed alarms on the doors and these are LOUD! If my mom doesn't awaken, the neighbors will! The trick is getting it turned off when it is so loud, but it works well.

Easy Peasy!

Of course very HTF because RadioShack closed. We 1st bought this when my Dad's Alzheimer's wasn't that bad. Well, he can no longer walk, but Mom & I just feel safer with it. BEST EVER for simple security.

Alarm kit not complete

When I received this product it was just the alarm unit in a plastic bag. There was no magnet, screws, or mounting tape or usage instructions. You at least need a magnet and some way to mount the alarm in order to use it. Fortunately I have a spare magnet and screws so will be able to make this work. This won't provide super security but should be good enough for my needs. The alarm is very loud. The user manual can be found online. I've given a 2 * rating because the kit is not complete and the average person would not be able to make it work.
