Quality Tip But Smaller Sizes are Needed for Detail or Trim work.
Purchased this and the NAR311 for our Truecoat II Pro for use on window and door casings and moulding. We spray Sherwin-Williams premium wall and window primer and Sherwin-Williams Pro Classic, which are both waterborn acrylic "latex" type paints. It has been a rough journey to get water based paints to work for this (it's not practical or environmentally friendly to spray laquer without a decent spray booth). Quality of this tip and the other tips is first-rate. With the 315, unthinned primer takes about three minutes of spraying time per quart at the lowest possbile setting on the Truecoat II Pro - and that's the challenge. Too much paint output even for a very fast pace. The 311 tip helps a reduce flow to a nearly workable amount for mouldings, but still not enough for great control. I have to really move fast to spray 16ft pieces of baseboard. Graco does make a fine finish sprayer that takes smaller tips, however that sprayer is really expensive for a non-pro to justify. I don't like the idea of cutting the guard with a Dremmel or hack saw. I purchased a X 210 tip, which was easy to adapt and fit to this tip holder. At your own risk, and don't get mad at me if it doesn't work for you or you ruin your equipment, etc -- to put the RAC X series tip in, put this, or another TrueCoat tip in some warm water, then wiggle the guard side to side so that it pops off of the metal tip holder. Remove the 315 tip. Then cut the little nub (about 1/8" to cut with a razor knife) so that the new tip will slide into the TrueCoat holder and finally pop the tip guard back on. It will then be a "custom" 210 tip that is much more managable with trim, although paint volume is still more than I would like. Overspray and waste are reduced to a very workable amount, control is better. I am very surprised that the TrueCoat on a setting of 1 or 1-1/2 pressure easily forces unthinned paint right through. The X series tips do atomize better than these TrueCoat tips. Well-mixed, thinned paint with a little Floetrol works remarkably well with the RAC X 210, however the 208 or 308 would probably be better still with the paints I'm using, doing interior trim. Your experiences will probably differ from mine, especially with different paints. I'm using fresh, well-mixed paints and the blue fine mesh filter screen. The 515 and perhaps even the 315 tips are for jobs like very large exterior trim or perhaps a small exterior wall, where one needs a lot of paint delivery. Sure, this is a five star quality tip, but the trial and error and tip size recommendations are rough for the end user of this kind of equipment. I'm knocking a star due to lack of selection and a proprietary tip mount that varies needlessly between Graco models that are so similar.

Good product...easily modified
06/04/2021 - I read about someone switching the tip for the Graco FFLP208 Fine Finish Low Pressure RAC X, and I have so say it actually worked. My Truecoat II works better than before. It was very simple to make the change, and the other person heated up the truecoat tip in hot water which I did as well. From there it was just a matter of a little brute force and some finesse. Will Overheat Sprayer
Need to be aware that if you use this narrow tip for any length of time, say on a large deck, there is a good possibility your sprayer will overheat and shut down on you. I thought my problem was with my sprayer until I read that this nozzle is notorious for this issue. Otherwise it did an adequate job spraying the stain.

Spray gun not spraying now
If I screwed the tip all the way on paint would not spray out. If I loosen the tip up a little bit would spray fine then. Not sure what's causing this but it didn't do this before I put the new tip on.

Worked great for my stairs project
This tip made a big difference when spraying about 30' of handrail and spindles. Used this tip with a 100 mesh filter and together they made all the difference in the world when spraying. Please note that I do NIT represent the mfg and maybe this tip/filter combo was too restrictive (as in maybe it could damage you sprayer), but for me this combo provided a great finish compared to the 315 tip with a 60 filter. Sprayed sherwin Williams pre-cat latex epoxy.

Great for acrylics
Exactly what I needed for acrylic paint. I purchased the Truecoat Pro II and the tip it comes with is too large to spray acrylics. You're either getting overspray everywhere or dripping everywhere. I contacted Graco and they tried to convince me against this tip for acrylics, but I assure you it works. With the 0.015 tip I was able to fine tune my pattern to give a great finish with hardly any overspray, to the point where I was comfortable to spray indoors with it.

Increases use of the Trucoat Sprayer
This tip works perfectly to spray cabinet doors or other small jobs for which this sprayer is intended. Not sure why a 415 is standard as it is too large for the the container size.

Great for spraying latex paint.
Must dilute latex paint to a flowability like dairy cream with a latex paint thinner. Also had to use a hand pump pressure tank with a hose connection to a Grayco Pro II spray gun.
