Works soooo much better than a metal one!

I do a lot of baking, including artisan-type sourdough and yeast breads, and my husband likes to make homemade pizza. Several years ago I bought a metal pizza peel and we always had big problems with trying to get my breads or his pizzas to slide off the metal peel onto the baking stone in the oven. Even with plenty of flour or cornmeal or semolina flour under the loaves or pizzas, the dough sticks to the metal. And using parchment under the loaves or pizzas didn't make much of a difference. The metal peel also had a really long handle which made it awkward to use in a smaller kitchen. But after watching dozens of videos on Youtube, it finally dawned on me that our problem with our peel was the metal, not our techniques. So I ordered this wooden peel and felt that the price is quite reasonable. The very first time I used this peel for baguettes, they slid right off the wooden peel onto the baking stone and it has worked like a charm every single time since. My husband hasn't yet made a pizza but I'm confident that it will also work fine. The peel is nice looking, sturdy, and well-made, and my only complaint is that it didn't come with a hole in the handle for hanging, but it took my husband only a few minutes to get out his drill and add that handy feature. I then found a suitable cord to thread through the hole and the peel now hangs ready for use at any time. I definitely recommend this wooden pizza peel.

So glad I got this

I had gotten an outdoor pizza oven and love it! It came with a nice large metal peel. It was always a mad dash to get the pizza off the peel before it started sticking to get it to the stone. and i like to make LARGE pizzas. This is the perfect size, and so much easier to use than a metal one. I have had no deformed pizzas! Love it

Great for smaller kitchen

We have two feet of clearance between the stove and the cabinet across it. This works great for cooking full sized pizza. Solid wood looks good. I will recommend treat it with mineral oil first.

Great peel, feel like a pizza chef

Glad I got a large size, slightly larger than my 15x15 stone. Took a little practice and adjustment of quantity of flour or corn meal to put down but now I've got it wired. I use it to prep the pie, to turn it, and to remove it. Was a little convex but not an issue, flattened a little with two two by fours and clamps. Probably didn't really do much but made me feel better. The peel works fine.
