Outstanding Cold Weather Base Layer Shirt!
It's finally been cold enough in my area to break out my cold-weather gear and take my kids sledding! The Arctix Dynamic Base Layer Crewneck worked perfectly on a recent sledding day! This shirt does precisely what is described on the product page—it keeps the wearer warm and dry during physical activity in cold weather. I tested this by ferrying my kids' sleds up and down a long, relatively steep hill during some single-digit weather recently. I tend to sweat (a lot) and hate feeling sweaty and cold at the same time. So, I used this base layer shirt under my typical cold-weather gear, and it worked great! This shirt dries fast and kept me feeling warmer than using a cotton base layer or even the other athletic shirts I've substituted in the past. Recommended!

Warm and wind resistant, good fit, but you'll need a liner shirt underneath
I've taken this top out on a few windy hikes to test it out, and have been quite impressed with it in general. First off, I should mention that it has a front belly pocket, like a pullover hoodie, which is nice, but prevents this from being used against the skin as a true base layer, at least for me. Since it's a snug fit, the extra layer of fabric the belly pocket tends to ride up a bit uncomfortably, requiring a tug to pull it back down over my dad bod belly. Maybe all the flat abs folks out there will not find this to be an issue, but, well, I ain't that kind of guy, for whatever that's worth! Wearing a light wicking layer underneath (I tried it with both summer-weight Merino wool knit and my standby cheap polyester/spandex workout shirt) completely eliminates this issue, and provides a little bit of moisture wicking, making this top superbly comfortable. Since it is rather thick and somewhat windproof, it doesn't breathe as well as thinner base layers, and it can feel a little clammy after sustained exertion when it's pressed directly against the skin, but a wicking layer takes care of that well. It's easily as warm as a lightweight down puffer, and comfortable enough to sleep in (I did). It's sturdily made, and I'd expect it to last for a good long while. In summary, aside from the issues calling it a 'base layer', it's a very functional and comfortable...'mid layer,' especially if you're looking for a down/wool alternative that packs well. I hope you find this review helpful - if so please let me know!

Thickish and Too SLIM
I wanted to love it, but I ordered a Lage size for my husband. He is 5'10 and 200lbs, and the Large top fits him the way too slim. I suggest sizing UP. It is a thicker material more feels like a lightweight hoodie shirt. It has little squared fleece-like squares. Overall, it is not a bad top, but it is way too slim for a large size. Ordering XL would solve the issue. ✅I hope you've found the information and my review helpful.✅

Great base layer shirt
This shirt is exactly what they describe it as, an excellent base layer. First, the fit: I'm 6'3" and fairly slender, and the shirt is long enough in both torso and sleeves to fit well, something I'm fairly picky about. It's also a nice, soft, warm fabric with a good bit of stretch to it. It is a slim-fit, as described, but you'd want that if wearing as a base layer to avoid wads of extra bulk beneath the outer garments. I like it a lot, but one issue is that it seems to attract and grip any pet hair within range, so if you have dogs or cats be aware of that - and on a navy-colored shirt (unless maybe you have a Blue Heeler...?) every pet hair shows. The one feature I don't like or understand is the handwarmer kangaroo pocket. First, it adds unnecessary bulk across the belly, and second, it will be inaccessible anyway if you're using this shirt as a base layer. Other than those two quibbles - for which I deducted one star - it's a great shirt.

Comfy and Warm
I'm a little torn with this top. Sure, the pocket is strange for a base layer if you don't plan on taking off your outer layers. The pocket is a little bulky. However, this base layer is quite thick and warm, so if you do plan on being active, which may require you to take off your outer layers, this top can be a good standalone layer. It's not thin like your basic woven thermals. Overall, I find this top very comfortable. Someone mentioned they needed a thin layer underneath to make this top stay in place, but I was fine as is (and I also have a bit of a stomach pouch). It might be that I'm between a medium and a large, and I chose a large to not risk bunching up. I get hot very easily, and this top seems to breathe well. I wouldn't wear it in temps north of 60 degrees Fahrenheit (~15 Celsius).

Great Warm Fabric
I don't usually like polyester but the weave is a little like a waffle. That seems to make it softer and warmer. Overall, I thought the fabric was great. Two problems for me. First, sizing. I often wear an XL but ordered L because I wanted it to be very form-fitting for my morning jogs. It is but it isn't long enough for me. When I'm doing tai chi stretches, it sometimes pulls up over my belt, exposing my stomach... not great when it is cold outside. The other thing I don't care for is the kangaroo pocket in the front. If I wanted that, I would have looked for the feature. The product description didn't include the pocket and I don't want it.

Warm and Dry
This shirt works well on cool days (30 - 40 deg) in that it keeps me warm, but not too warm. And it also remains dry. It fits as advertised, but needs to be worn as a standalone shirt rather than over or under another shirt. It has a front pocket (kangaroo) pouch that is open on both sides and the middle (I.e, you can clasp your hands if desired). The sleeves are comfortable and easy to keep up the arm if desired. Pretty effective overall.
