Looks nice. But missing one cover...Broke one holder in 3 years.

Not too hard to install. I am missing one cover out of the four I ordered. Seller sent me a whole new holder. Seems to be pretty solid. But the plastic sounds like it would be brittle and does not look like it has very much glass reinforcement fibers in it. Just a note...Scotty brand holders do not fit in this flush mount holder. The shaft is too big to fit in the hole. My old Cabela's QuickDraw holders fit in the Scotty holder but not this one by Attwood. Update 09/10/2020: Since installing in 2017 I have had one holder break while trying to get the rod out of the holder as I hooked a fish trolling. Attwood sent me a replacement. A little too much sideways movement and the shaft of the holder just snapped in two.

this basic design has been floating around for years. I have a number of the older Attwood ones and bought these to replace some I lost overboard (don't ask....). these show a number of detail improvements: they handle larger rod butts than the older ones, and the lock ring that secures the rod in place is easier to rotate with wet hands. on the down side, the lock ring doesn't wholly cover the space and the rod can slip out of it if you use this on the port side of the boat. they are sturdy and have stood up to trolling strikes from yellowtail, dorado, and sails.

These work great

I have been using these for many years. You can knock open the lock and pull the rod out quickly with one hand. I don't know what kind of plastic these are but they last forever. I ordered these for my new boat. The ones they sent me are very tight! I had to use a hammer and punch to separate them initially. Had to open the grove that goes over the key. That's why only four stars.

A lot bulkier than I imagined, but gets the job done

This is a lot bulkier than I imagined but it gets the job done. It can probably fit a 3.5" diameter rod...who is fishing with a 3.5" diameter tuna/shark rod from a kayak?? A normal casting rod sort of flops and slides around in it, though it won't come out because of the closing latch. So overall it works, I just wish it was less bulky so it had more range of motion when installed and that it would hold a normal sized rod firmly.

Great rod holder

Works great for my inflatable pontoon. use with a Scotty downrigger which it works great with.

Good Value and like the flush mount covers

Had 2 on my boat and just added 4 more. They seem to be just what they say, Heavy Duty. Had a problem with the order, (missing part) but it was handled stress free. I thank Amazon and Limited Goods for that. I will be giving them a work out next spring. I'm sure they'll work fine.

Works as it should. Like the flush mount when I'm not using it. Would be better if it came with the bottom of the mount sealed. You have to cut a one inch hole in your kayak for the mount. I cut a piece of plastic and super glued a bottom on mine.

Way to big for what I wanted!

Was looking for some smaller ones for my fresh water poles. These are very well made, easy to install, but if your looking for fresh water size, these aren't it!!!

missing bolt/removal issue

no bolts, and the bolts I used did not quite tighten because of limited space where bolts sit. As well cannot remove the rod hold and use the hole plug - unsure why that is, would be nice to remove when not fishing.
