Works well with manual input and driver cooperation.

The lock works just fine, when and if the delivery people chose to use it, and if I remember to manually add the info for the package to the app. They are beta-testing email forwarding, but so far that hasn’t worked even once. Out of about 8 deliveries since we got it, drivers have only managed to use it three times. I hope it gets better. After having lost several deliveries to porch pirates, we bought this lock ($130+tax) and a storage bench ($140+ tax), so “disappointing” doesn’t really touch my irritation at the lock not being used. I’ve complained to Amazon and they’ve assured me “the driver will be punished.” Not so helpful if nothing changes, plus I know Amazon is getting by paying shit to independent contractors to deliver, so they have absolutely zero commitment to quality control. So, in sum: 1. Five stars for the lock - it works when used correctly. Five stars for customer service- they’ve answered my questions well and very timely, going above and beyond. 2. One star for the beta-testing email forwarding. 3. Two stars for the chances that your delivery driver (whether USPS, UPS or Amazon) is going to manage to use the app. Our family gets lots of deliveries (about five per week) and that can be a lot of tedious data to input in the app. I think this app would be perfect for a one-person household where you could use your own email address for all shipments. The problem is when there are multiple email addresses, ie multiple individuals with their own Amazon accounts at one address.

Doesn’t work, not user friendly, have missed and/or lost SEVERAL packages because of it

This thing has yet to work even once! I even tried to use the master code on my app the other day to unlock it and that didn’t even work! It’s supposed to connect to my email and automatically put tracking numbers in but it won’t connect to my email, I tried to contact customer service to resolve the issue and have no heard a thing in response. I have been manually entering tracking numbers of each and every passage but every single time delivery drivers scan the package the lock refuses to open. I even took a package that got delivered that day and tried scanning it myself and it didn’t work and the lock was unaware it had been delivered so it should have worked. So far NOTHING about this lock has worked NOTHING. I’ve missed SEVERAL deliveries because of it. Also I tried sending a barcode to my boyfriends phone to test it because half the reason we bought it was so we could send the barcode to family and friends to allow them access onto our property when we’re nit gone in fact that was the deciding factor that made our decision and guess what..? YEP! That doesn’t work either!!! If someone from the company would like to contact me to resolve all these issues and they actually do get fully resolved then I will gladly remove my bad review and replace it with a good one because I absolutely LOVED the idea of this lock and what it should do, the problem is it just doesn’t actually do any of those things and every day is a constant stressful worry hoping my deliveries don’t get sent away, lost or stolen because they can’t be properly delivered. Also the app is NOT user friendly and there are no proper easy to follow instructions as to how to connect it properly to your email and when that fails it offers no solution. And several times I’ve manually entered the tracking number to packages and it can’t find any info on them meaning when they arrive they can’t scan and unlock the lock. I get several packages A DAY and was really hoping this lock would be the answer to my problems but as of now it causes more stress than I’d have without it. If you’re from the company and can offer assistance PLEASE contact me at sholladay@hotmail.com. I REALLY need this thing to work. If no resolution happens I’ll be calling corporate to demand a full refund. Don’t purchase this lock. Might as well just burn 130 dollars it’s basically just a big yellow weight for the chain to my gate.

"Peace of mind" is right!

I've had this lock for over a week now and I'm glad that I finally ordered it. Being that I work until late night, my packages have sat on my porch all day. I’ve been ordering more items online due to the current state of our world, and I did not want to have piles of packages grab the attention of strangers walking by. I’ve already had luck having Amazon and UPS use the lock without any issues, I hope that I also have same the experience with other carriers in the near future! Because porch pirating is such a common occurrence now, I hope more people adopt this type of technology and then carriers will definitely be encouraged to drop items and use the lock! The first noticeable thing is how solid this lock is. It's wonderfully made, doesn't look like a cheap lock, and so I'm not worried that anyone will be able to cut off the lock. Setting up the BoxLock was also instant. The app walks you through each step and reacts immediately with the lock when you want to open it. On the underside you will find a port for the micro USB power port, the scanner, and a small flashlight. The item will need a bit of charging when you first begin to set it up. It was great receiving a notification on my phone alerting me that I should charge the device, so there will be no guessing game when it comes to finding out when you should charge it. I definitely recommend this product to those who live in urban areas where there is often people walking around, looking to grab up some deliveries! Save yourself the headache from having to fight with mail theft claims!
