good gate for keeping out the Wieners

I have wiener dogs and there are rooms they are just not allowed in. This gate has helped me keep them out of certain rooms. I really like the fact that i can keep the gate open if it needs to be open without the fear of it closing on a wiener dog. Not a fan of how the pressure mounts work, but its not the end of the world.

Very Sturdy!

I have had this in my house for 2 and a half years now. It keeps my toddler and my very active 55lb dog away from the basement stairs! It's very sturdy and I have never once worried that it would fall or break.

Look no further for tension gate.

I needed to block a hallway from my dogs that would have allowed access to the LR without me with them. They are not bad dogs, just the possibility that 1 may decide that my LR would be a good place to pee if I was not there to hear or see their actions that say "I have to pee"! I searched, read reviews, tried to decide. Finally chose this gate. I am very pleased with this gate. It allows the placement at the bottom to adjust to the baseboard and the top to extend to the walls. The gate is snug, doesn't move. It has stayed level since I installed (perhaps 4 or 5 weeks). I like to wait to review until the item has been used unless it is a fabulous notice immediately item, example a vacuum. But, onto this gate, high end metal. I have had to take it down once and had no damage.. But, I do have what we call lawyers paneling, so the walls are extremely thick, so I can't say how it affects drywall. In my opinion, it may indent, but not harm. The center door opening makes it "not your Grandmother's gate". Excellent paint, it didn't chip during installation as some will. The gate has a nice option, open out, it stays in place, open in, it closes behind you. (This is a great option if you have used gates before.) The gate door opens easily, push the switch and lift up, open! It sits at nearly the space at the bottom it states in just above the the shoe molding trim. The upper adjustments are more than able to expand the added half inch each side due to the trim above shoe molding. Once tightened, perfect. The gate doesn't move. I suggest using a level with a magnetic side to make sure you are level, if you are level, you are straight. The dogs can put their weight against the gate when they stand up and lean on it, even 2 dogs at a time! I don't have toddlers, so I cannot review the childproof option. Even if I think my dogs as kids. Remembering the old wooden gates with the expansion slots? This is so far advanced it is amazing. I highly recommend this gate. It actually exceeds my expectations. IMO, look no further.

Read the Directions First

Although we did read the directions, we had a little problem with the installation. When we measured one side was off by centimeters, but the gate wouldn't fit correctly. Once we got the bottom EXACTLY horizontally parallel, it was perfect. Don't cut that plastic tie until you are absolutely sure the gate is correctly installed. I removed the tie when we first tried the installation, found the gate didn't fit and had to re-tie the pieces with another zip tie.

29.5” to 37.4” gate perfect for pets and babies, functional, slim

Gate was purchased for puppy but has been used to also contain infant. After using for a month here are my comments: -Features: Gate swings both ways (inside and outside depending on orientation), has an auto-close function for gate opening less than 90 degrees, and has a stay-open function built-in for past 90 degrees of the gate opening. Features are very useful for high traffic hallways and pets/people. -Opening Gate: After a few uses, it is intuitive to unlatch the gate by using slider AND lifting the entire gate to release it. -Install: Was relatively quick, although needing to pinch and rotate small plastic knobs to pressure-fit the gate against walls was a little challenging. All four knobs at each corner of the gate need to be adjusted individually but allows for baseboards. -Alarm: Did not activate the alarm but relative who purchased the exact same gate noted that it was very loud. Since installing the gate and protection pads can take a while, I can see the use of having many of these gates around the house for kids and pets. Great product - five stars *****

Perfect sizing

These were on sale when I bought them. I bought two, it took a week or so but they are perfect in size.

Hard to secure bottom

The gate has to be tighten on top and bottom and it was a bit of a hassle to secure the bottom, but works once you get it done.

Keeps my trash eating naughty dog out of trouble

Great for keeping things without thumbs in like dogs. Doesn't work on cats or the gremlins in the closet though.
