Cover up
Works well with my Generac

Great cover at a great price!
I bought a Powerhouse 9000 gasoline-powered generator from Northern Tools and was going to get their cover to fit it. Except they didn't carry it and said it would be on back order for over 30 days. So I jumped on Amazon and sure enough, they had one. I was a little concerned about the fit and quality but I checked the measurements of my generator and that of the cover. I noticed that there was a drop down menu for the cover size. I got the large cover which should fit with an inch to spare. I just received the package last night, as promised in Amazon's shipping report. Came right on schedule like they said it would. I was somewhat worried about the fit and was surprised that the bag that contains the cover is also attached to the cover. Once I unfolded the cover and turned it inside out with the writing on the outside, I slipped the openings for the handles over the cover and slipped the cover onto my generator. I noticed that the end with the handle holes is Velcroed together but I didn't bother undoing as it was easy enough to slip over the hanles. It fits well and there is room to spare. I can see where some people may be upset as there is no draw string at the bottom of the cover and it drapes over the generator. I also would probably not expose this to weather but my generator is stored inside my garage so this is not a problem. I am just looking for a dust cover and something to keep the unit looking like new. I am quite pleased with my cover and my Amazon purchase. I will definitely use Amazon again. Measure your generator, review the drop down menu carefully, and don't expect this to be a cover to protect against rain or snow. If you want to seal at the bottom, use a bungee cord. But for what I paid, it was cheaper than Northern Tools (NT) and Amazon delivered it a lot faster than NT could.

Could Be Better
Oct 12, 2009 - I ordered ETQ TG32P12 4000 watt generator & separate cover from Amazon.com. Amazon shipment tracking info was excellent. Oct 18 & 20 - Rec'd cover via mail on 18th and generator on 20th via UPS; cover too big for generator, but works. Generator packing box was in good shape and generator appeared to be in good condition. While inspecting contents and generator, I discovered the plastic air cleaner box had numerous cracks on the back side where attached to the carburetor. With no damage to shipping box, the damage must have occurred during assembly. Oct 21 - At 9:00 a.m. I called Northern Tools Parts Dept. per instructions in owner's manual; they said they could do nothing until I e-mailed or faxed them a receipt; I e-mailed them the Amazon.com confirmation of purchase and the confirmation of shipment, along with the part numbers for the air cleaner, bracket, and bolt. They said they'd call me or e-mail me when they received it. Oct 21 - At 3:00 p.m., I had heard nothing from or received any e-mail from Northern Tools; I called again; they said they had necessary info from my e-mail and would ship parts in next day or so. Oct 22 through Nov 6 (16 days) - A frustrating 16 days passed with me trying to get serviceable parts from Northern Tools. I sent numerous e-mails and made 7 phone calls. I was told parts were being shipped several times and would be notified when they were shipped. In 16 days, I never received one e-mail or one phone call. Over the 16 day period, I received one cracked air cleaner with bracket and bolt attached, one cracked air cleaner with bracket not attached and no mounting bolt, and one uncracked air cleaner with no bracket or bolt. I removed a bolt and bracket from a cracked air cleaner and installed without tightening on the uncracked air cleaner. Then I placed the air cleaner on the carburetor and discovered the bracket was badly engineered because, as designed, it did not fit over the frame bolt without stressing the plastic air cleaner. I used a round file to enlarge the half-moon cutout on the bracket to allow it to be moved further to the right and not be restricted by the engine housing. The bracket hole would now fit over the frame bolt without any stress on the plastic air cleaner; I then carefully tightened the bracket bolt on the air cleaner and the nut on the frame mounting bolt, then the nuts holding the air cleaner to the carburetor. It should be noted that the choke lever is also plastic and could easily break if care is not taken when moving between open and closed position. After finally getting the air cleaner replaced, I added oil, gas, closed the choke and started on the second pull. Sound was quieter than some I've heard of the same watt size. I adjusted choke to open after starting and plugged in several items to check the 120 v. receptacles; both worked fine, and unplugged all from 120 volt receptacles. I then plugged in a 220 volt plug from the house to the 4-way plug on the generator and turned on (one at a time) refrigerator, freezer, 3 TV'S, and 3 lights. These were all tested while a meter checked the voltage/amps; noticed little if any drop when each were turned on or after all were on. The generator seems to operate well (just needs some engineering design corrections by manufacturer and quality control improvements by distributor Northern Tools) Time will tell if generator operates well on any extended time frame.

A Perfect Cover For My Honda Powermate 8750 Generator
The cover is nylon, not like a poly tarp as some reviews state. It is light weight, does not have tie downs or grommets to use a rope to tie it down, but was exactly what I wanted. It fit my Honda Powermate 8750 generator perfectly. Mine is stored inside and only moved outside when being used so the cover wouldnt be on it anyway. I have other equipment ( snow blower, chipper, mower, saws, pressure washer, etc) covered with old sheets or tarps. If i could find this same type cover for them I would gladly purchase them. Im not sure how this cover would fair out in the weather or sun but for $20 what do you expect? If you want to tie it down go to your local hardware store and buy a grommet kit for a few dollars and then you can tie it down and see what happens. For my needs it is inexpensive and perfect for what I wanted. If you are looking for an all weather storm proof cover then spend the $80 - $150 and buy one!

Disappointing, in comparison with other weather covers from the same company
I bought several weather covers from Classic Accessories: one for a stack of patio chairs, a second to cover my snow blower, and this generator cover. The first two are very tough, sturdy, and well-made. I expect them to provide several winters’ excellent protection for the things they cover, all of which are outdoors, and are exposed to challenging upstate NY winter weather. However, this generator cover is about the weight of a rain shell that you might wear while going out for a walk in a drizzle. I think it will prove to be water resistant, but water will enter through the handle openings and the velcro seams, and I don’t suppose that the weight of this fabric will allow it to survive more than one year, or perhaps two, if I’m lucky. Since the function of the cover to me is to protect my generator for year-round outdoor storage, I decided to use this cover over the existing tarp and webbing straps which had already been in place to keep the thing out of the weather, just to add one more sacrificial layer of weather protection. However, this cover is a world away from the other Classic Accessories products. To relate this to other sorts of covers, I’d say that this is similar to a garage dust cover for a motorcycle, or to a boat mooring cover; it's not constructed to be a long-term protection solution.

Indoor use only!
This is not a heavy duty cover at all. I wanted something to cover my Honda EU7000 generator on the hitch of my trailer full time when not in use. Even with bungee straps it gets blown out of position while in transport. I repeat, this is far from heavy duty! As a cover its size is ok but after a few short months in the sun it is already starting to fade in Colour. I would not recommend this cover for out door use. It's an indoor dust cover at best.

fits well and looks good. This cover is made from fairly thin but ...
I wanted a dust cover for my new Generac XG8000E portable generator and this filled the need completely, fits well and looks good. This cover is made from fairly thin but tough nylon type material and is not intended as a permanent cover for a generator left outdoors in all types of extreme weather. Generators need to be stored in a dry environment, not outside unless inside a weather proof enclosure. This product is an excellent dust cover.

Great for the price
I'm not sure what others expect for this price but I am very pleased with the cover. I love the fact that it is lightweight and water repellent. It is also nice that the cover bag stays attached so that you don't lose it

Nice cover with Velcro fasteners
Nice cover with Velcro fasteners. Not sure this will be suitable for outdoors. For me, it is an ideal cover as I keep the generator indoors and out of the dust.

Dust cover
I purchased this to protect my generator from garage dirt while not in use. It does exactly that. It would not recommend this for protection from harsher climates.
