The Perfect Travel Mug
As of this writing, well over 40,000 people have rated this product 4 or more out of 5 stars. Here's why! Pros ???????????? - Compact: The 16oz mug measures 7" x 3 1/4" at the lid (it tapers down to 2 3/4" at the base). - Lightweight: It's a hair over 10 oz (when empty). - Lid: Simple and effective with no rubber seals or gaskets to replace. - Rubberized Grip: gives you a sure and comfortable place to hold. - Vacuum Insulated: Rated 6 hours for hot beverages and 12 hours for cold. - Easy to Clean: I rinse and hand wash mine and haven't had any issues with smell or taste. - Value: This mug lists for $16 but goes on sale for as low as $10 which is what I paid for mine. - Name Brand: Contigo is a brand I've come to trust (it matters!) Cons ???????????? - It's more of a nitpick but also a suggestion for future improvement: Hey Contigo, if you're reading this, could you please incorporate a rubber sleeve for the bottom of the mug? It would help save it from inevitable drops. My Recommendation ???? It's a well made and reasonably priced mug that looks good and does exactly what it set out to do. I would gladly recommend it to others for travel or daily commute.

Best travel cup ever
This is an outstanding item, works exactly like you'd expect. There are only 2 (very minor) flaws. First, it's a bit challenging to clean. The metal cup portion cannot go in the dishwasher and only someone with very small hands could get in there to clean. You almost need a baby bottle brush to really get the bottom part clean. Second, there is a rubber o-ring seal in the lid that will stretch and deform over time and eventually need to be replaced. They are inexpensive and available on Amazon but difficult to get back into the track in the lid. That said, these are inexpensive, excellent quality, work well, keep your drinks hot or cold for a long time and I would highly recommend them to anyone who needs a travel mug that won't leak or spill.

Best travel 24 oz mug that I ever had
This is a great 24 oz travel mug. I tested how it would hold hot water hot when sealed. It was still a little less than hot after 24 hours. Nice. Tested the cold factor and although the ice melted the water was cold for 20+ hours when sealed. The only thing that is tricky is when you press up the snap it is not able to fully open. This is because this mechanism is like a see-saw type. Which means that the other end is like a small sponge ball use to seal the opening. So, that means you will not be able to "chug" large amounts of liquid. Need to let gravity do it's thing as you slowly tilt it upward. If you try it any other way, you will be wearing the water. Yes it happened to me. It is very easy to keep clean because the coffee does not stain the inner lining because it is stainless steel. Enjoy. Take care of your stuff, people. Have a good one.

Fantastic water bottle for cold or hot. Leakproof! I've got 3 older ones, still in use. The only problem with these newer ones is the curved bottoms- the older ones have flat bottoms and don't tip over as easily. Had one of the newer styles flip out of my car receptacle and land on the passenger seat. Yes, they are leak proof when closed, but mine was open at the time. Wish Contigo would go back to the flat bottom style.

Doesn't leak, keeps coffee hot, easy to clean
Title says most of the high points - I prefer the snap seal over a slider because there are fewer nooks and crannies to try to get clean. I've done away with all other travel mugs and only use Contigo Snap Seal tumblers. It keeps coffee hot, similar to a thermos, so I don't mind using it like a thermos.

Good purchase
Items arrived in a timely manner. Made coffee at 9am and it was still hot at 1pm. Left ice in it overnight and it was still there in the morning. It turns over in my van all the time but has not leaked . Would want more color options like purple to make gifts for my friends.

Easy to grip for small hands
Out of several travel mugs, I've been trying, this design from Contigo is ideal because: Not super wide The silicone band helps with gripping the mug Same lid for different sizes -- 1 standardized lid Seals extremely well no leaking Easy to pop open to drink or close Easy to screw the lid on and off Fairly easy to drink from (as good or better than any other travel mug) Keeps my coffee very hot for a long time *** Pours coffee out into a smaller cup VERY well, and the silicone band catches any minimal drips. The lid does not have a complicated mechanism that makes it easy to clean! It comes in a 24 oz / 3 cup size! (Three of these a day gives me over 8 cups of fluid daily!) Very nice gender-friendly colors that go with accessories (purses, wallets, shoes, coats, etc.) Durable -- I put mine in my dishwasher on the top rack, and they seem fine. Probably will fit in all car cup holders and side door compartments. ***This is the best feature b/c I make a full mug of coffee and pour small amounts to sip from a ceramic cup. I get super hot coffee for over an hour without making a mess. Now with my 3-cup Contigo, I can almost double the coffee I make, and it will last all morning. Much sleeker than a huge pitcher carafe to clutter my counter. Other travel mugs dribble or splash when pouring out liquids with the lid on.

Perfect for my Coffee to Go
Heaven forbid I should step onto my morning commuter train without my mug of coffee. Even after I switched to decaf on doctor's orders, I still like to sip a just short of scalding cup of coffee on my morning ride to work. Good luck finding a coffee shop that has a pot of decaf ready to pour at 7 AM, though. Not even my local Starbucks has brewed decaf. "I'll be happy to brew you a cup fresh if you can wait 10 minutes" they say. "You're a coffee house, YOU HAVE ONE JOB!" was my response before rushing out the door to cross the street to catch my train (without coffee in hand). So there was nothing else to do but make my own, just the way I like it. I used to use a Bubba travel mug but it just plain wore out and they don't make that mug anymore. After going through at least a half dozen other travel mugs, this is the one that's worked the best and lasted the longest. It keeps my coffee super-hot, the snap release top is easy to use and it's very easy to clean. I liked it so much that I bought another one. I rotate between them.

Its a good mug BUT
It's a great mug and I use it daily. But I found the leak proof top is a bit hard to open. Also, because its so deep its hard to clean, but I kinda knew that before I purchased.

Secure, leakproof and very effective at keeping drinks with ice cold for hours
I haven’t used the Contigo for hot drinks as yet so can’t comment on their effectiveness there. I am very pleased with them for keeping cold drinks extremely cold for hours especially with the addition of ice cubes. Easy to open and close and do not leak if accidentally turned upside down.
