My dog still won't use it

doesn't leak

We just installed it, but so far I'm impressed because I figured it would leak right out of the gate. It has a great seal on the water spigot, and the water spout doesn't drip a bit. Our 1 year old German Shepherd puppy is a bit confused by it, but he is such a water hound that I'm sure it won't take anything for him to figure out.

Awesome!

After you figure out that it needs a bit of muscle to push it up into the faucet while turning it, it’s smooth sailing from there. No leaks and the water flows perfectly for my dogs. It took a few lessons using peanut butter and now they have their own fresh water source on tap.

Water on tap for the dog

My dog and neighbors dog have some trouble using because they want a constant stream and I seem to have keep retraining, but once they get the hang of it, it works great!

Low water flow, but easy to teach dog!

We have a 1 year old labrador... I put this on the spigot, put a little peanut butter on the tip, he licked it and drank. I only did that two more times (spaced about 30 minutes apart) and he figured out that licking the end makes water come out! We had a particularly hot day and he went back several times (without the peanut butter) to drink. My only complaint is that even with the water turned on full power, it's too light of a trickle. I don't feel like he gets enough water and I feel like he gets frustrated that there's not much coming out. We will play with positioning- maybe it needs to be pointed more downward, or upward, or ??? But yeah- pup learned how to get his own water in under 2 hours !

Make sure it is sufficiently tightened

When we initially installed the unit it leaked even when not engaged by the dog. The stem was positioned correctly but still leaked. I was going to return the unit. Before sending it back I disassembled it to determine how it functioned. After my evaluation I determined it had to be tightened on much tighter than a normal hose connection in order to apply pressure to the internal mechanism. Once I used a wrench to tighten it down the unit no longer leaked. It has been functioning as expected for weeks without issue.

Great invention!

This is an awesome attachment for our backyard spigot. It took our dog only about 30 mins to realize it’s her water dispenser. We put peanut butter on it to show her how licking it makes it work. The device doesn’t leak or anything. It performs exactly as it’s supposed to and I’m especially pleased that it’s made in the USA.

Works as expected!

The media could not be loaded. Husband installed in, aka screwed it on. The water coming out is cloudy, unsure why, but not a big deal. Our pup uses it easily.
