Not rubbery or squeegee like. It is a nice size and perfect for things like pancakes and eggs. Just what I was looking for!

Strange blade holder.

I bought this for the handle. I do like the handle. The problem is with the blade. It's set back so that only a narrow channel is available for passing the blade along the vegetable you are peeling. It's fine for carrots and maybe potatoes but I found it difficult to use on a purple eggplant. I wouldn't recommend it and I probably should have returned it immediately instead of trying to live with it. I'll be replacing it soon with something that has both a better handle and a better blade. Well built though.
