Nice but not long lasting

I purchased 10 pairs of these, I still have 5 unopened but I found the shorts to not be very durable overall. Last time I ordered amazon mistakenly sent me carhartt shorts, same size. Now those shorts are noticeably better right down to a larger zipper, thicker material, better stitching and comfort. I used to be a big dickies fan but the shirts shrink, the shorts rip... No more dickies for me anymore...

Too large, I should have ordered a size smaller. The material is stiff and uncomfortable.

My new favorite shorts

Best shorts. Comfortable, clean, somewhat dirt resistant (don’t base your purchase off of that, it’s very mild dust that can be brushed right off), true to size, has a little give but still tough material. 100% wash them before first use, they’re a little tough before the first wash.

Sized exactly as labeled at 36". Excellent fit. No issues with workmanship.

Arrived fast. Sized exactly as labeled at 36" & fit perfectly, which was a wonderful surprise. Well made. Too soon to know the durability. The fabric did not feel more HD than my DX250s carpenter shorts purchase 5 yrs and are worn out. Hope this will last longer. Too soon to know the durability. Wish had a Khaki color option for a better match with shirts.

Stretch like a Not as tough as they used to be

Okay, I'm older...my shorts of this type are about 10 years old; they are the last of three original pairs. I decided it was time to stock up again and found the look of my Dickies were the same, but the model number and the material has changed. Basically, its about the stretch: if you need it, buy a bunch, if you are used to cotton and something that is the size it is, you'll be disappointed. The shorts read identical to what I have, and I'm thankful for that...I loved my old pairs. Bottom line: they are basically the same as they used to be, they aren't "firehose" type anymore, but they really seem like they'll last a long time.

Awesome shorts.

I hate the look of cargo shorts and these have enough pockets for what I use them for at work (cable installer). Nice pocket for zip ties or whatever you want. Maybe a sharpie, maybe a hot dog. I won’t judge. I’m pretty rough on things and there’s now a hole in the bum area but that’s probably my fault. I’ll be buying more. The fit was true to size (for me)

Fit wasn't for me

Dickies tough max line is awesome. I have multiple pairs of their pants and a pair of cargo shorts, but I did not like how slim their carpenter shorts were in the legs. It limited flexibility in the shorts as compared to the cargos, so I'll stick with the cargo shorts.
