Good flapwheel sander
Efficiently deburrs and smooths tool steel stock. Did not self-destruct on first use, which is expected for a part in this price range, but still I'm used to this sort of thing not lasting for very many uses. Hopefully since no damage is visible to the flaps, it'll have a few uses in it before replacement is necessary. Another reviewer commented on the photo indicating a multi-pack. Apparently the photo has been corrected, probably due to this person's review. It's a single wheel mounted permanently on the standard-diameter spindle. Fit for several purposes, mostly involving smoothing metals, for instance after cutting with a cut-off blade. Note: it will grind soft rock (such as limestone or travertine) if you hold it in place for more than a few seconds, rather than smooth it. Unless you're quick about it, it will grind wood as well. The video shows paint-removal with it... I can't contest that it has this capability, but given that it's about 1cm wide, can you imagine cleaning a whole window sash with this? Personally, I'll be sticking to small jobs with it. Note the significant gap in time in the video where the demo goes from just started, to they've done a lot in that space... that would take quite a while with something this small. I did not test this, but given what it did to tool steel, it would be nice for putting back a medium edge on a lawnmower blade. It rapidly shaped, then smoothed, a nail with the head lopped off. Used briefly, it removed rust down to bare metal from mild steel. Downrated one star because the product page didn't clarify what exactly it would do to various surfaces. It generalizes uses, which gets you in the ballpark, but from there it's hard to know for sure whether it's going to grind or smooth.

Quite useful but too expensive
This Dremel 3/16" flapwheel works better for some precision type sanding jobs than the 3/8" flapwheels, and is a little less likely to gouge the wood or place ruts in the wood than the larger size. You still need to be careful though. If you are heavy handed with either size wheel you will need to do flat sanding to smooth out the ruts, even if they are slight. There are non-Dremel 3/8" wheels that are sold as a bunch of maybe 5 together of that size and are less expensive than Dremel per wheel. I haven't found bunches of the 3/16" size. Someone should offer them. The non-Dremel wheels are harder though and more prone to gouge, so the Dremels are a little better because the flaps flex more. The 3/16" wheel is a good addition to your flapwheels, but will probably not last as long as you would like.

Perfect for sanding small edges
I recently used the flapwheel sander to sand stain off of some thin edges on a wooden dresser, and I was very happy with the result. The flapwheel is tough enough to sand through stain, but delicate enough not to dig into the wood (although it can dig in a bit if you slip of us it on an edge). The sanding surface is surprisingly durable. One flapwheel goes a long way before needing to be replaced. I think this is a great addition to any sanding arsenal.

Did exactly what I needed done
We had a couple of stainless steel pans with sharp edges. This smoothed them enough. CAUTION wear eye protection. Bits fly off.

Exactly as advertised
I bought this wheel to help strip clear coating off a wheel. It worked as best as could be expected since it's not really made for that.application. I can't say anything bad about it, it does what it's supposed to. I thought it was a little pricey but I couldn't find it any cheaper so it must be me.

great little sanders
great little sanders. Use your dremmel on the lower speed and let the sander do the work-- no extreme pressure. Higher speed wears it out super fast. have patience.

OK but a bit on the agressive side.
It's a bit too stiff, maybe it wioll soften more with use. It aggressively removes more material than desired sometimes
