Good cheap scissors

The metal isn’t the highest quality (was a bit scuffed upon arrival), but these a scissors are not bad for the price. The handles are really comfortable, and they were decently sharp out of the packaging. I had to wash it several times to get an oily residue off the blades when first opening though. Make sure you wash these really well! Keep in mind that the packaging specifies that these are hand wash only, which is fine because you shouldn’t stick blades in the dishwasher anyway because it will dull them. But I’ve been lazy a couple times and stuck them in the dishwasher since they’re fairly cheap, and I’m happy to report they came out okay. I don’t plan on doing it often though, because I’ve had the handles of a similar Kitchenaid kitchen shear slowly melt in the dishwasher before. I just made sure to dry the blades immediately after the cycle ended, and I haven’t had any issues with rust appearing on these Farberware scissors.

Perfect modern kitchen shears

I needed a pair of kitchen shears to use in the bar area of our beach house. The wood is dark in the shelving unit so black scissors get "lost" and not seen, these aqua colored scissors are easy to spot and match our beach theme. They cut amazingly well, very crisp and smooth. They are nice and sturdy and thick so I expect they will last a long time. Love Farberware shears, but these came with gunk and rust straight from the package

I have some Farberware shears that are just like this but have a different color design on the handle, and I absolutely love them. They're very sharp and cut well. While it's probably a fluke, these Aqua handle shears came with a spot of rust on the inside of the cutting blade near the tip and something sticky or gunky on the blade. I don't see why a new blade should not be in perfect condition, so I removed one star out of five for that reason. I was able to remove the gunk and rust, and now they are working wonderfully. Sharp blades, smooth action, and handles that are wide enough to get your whole hand in comfortably.

Sharp and Sturdy

Nice sharp and sturdy shears for multipurpose cutting. They’re listed as kitchen shears, but the packaging touts their ability to cut a variety of items such as packages and coupons. Cut through the plastic packaging they came in with ease. Perfect since I always grab our kitchen shears for opening our Amazon packages. These shears are nice and sharp and have a nice weight without being too heavy. They don’t come apart like the shears that came with my knife set which is a plus. The blades are a good length (just over 4” from handle to tip). Should work for a variety of applications. Would recommend these shears to have on hand as all purpose shears.

Thick blades!

These shears have thick, sturdy blades and feel chunky in my hand. The tips of the blades are rounded and while I prefer a pointier set, these work fine for opening packages or trimming meat. I have found them to collect random stickiness more than my other kitchen shears and for some reason, the blades aren't always easy to clean off which I cannot explain. I've designated them to be my garden shears to use for clipping twine for tomatoes, opening bags of fertilizer and soil, etc and they're excellent for that purpose, particularly because I don't care about having a more slender blade or sharper points. Incidentally, I also love the color aqua - adds some fun to a tool!

Sturdy Shears

My pair of Faberware Shears arrived in perfect condition. They're sturdy and durable and do a good job cutting. They are comfortable and ergonomic and work for either hand. I have an aqua theme in my Florida kitchen, so these look quite good displayed in a container on my counter. Overall, I'm very happy with these easy-to-clean shears. ~ Kort
