HANDY SET TO HAVE

I was missing some of my punches over the years and wanted a set of center punches for odd jobs. These are just for hobby and odds and ends so didn't need the "best" quality. This set was better than I expected.

they are very good the only thing is when I tried to use ...

This is an update of my experience with this center punch, they are very good the only thing is when I tried to use it on stainless steel material it ruined my biggest center punch of the set and I was very disappointed. But then I started using me second biggest one on carbon material it has been like 3 months and it's still working fine.

Dulled almost immediately

Not sure if it's clear in the picture, but one of the punches dulled after about 10-20 uses. Clearly these were either poorly heat treated or are not actually a higher carbon steel. Regardless I'm very unimpressed, I'd expect this from cheap Chinese punches, not from something American made.

Decent hobbyist set for your makerspace

Not the best, not the worst. Just OK but great for the price. These are definately hardened so what else do you want. If you use this kind of thing every day you wouldn't be buying from amazon. These see moderate use in my space and they are holding up well.

Good little set for a good price

Been using them at work for a while now and so far they hold great. Using them really often ( I'm a machinist ) and so far no chipping and the point is still sharp. Using them on mild steel, aluminium and brass.

Great punches

Decent punches. I've used 1 so far on stamped steel and it held up well. The tip did not round and seems to be heat treated properly. The coating on them seems of good quality. Good punches for small work projects.
