Works good sofar

I think this is a genius tool for street hockey players. The ball shoots out at a perfect speed. Maybe it will one day have a ball speed setting. It surprisingly works well with being a battery item. Sometimes battery items are not so durable but so far I've been ok with this. I was little works when it was sort of wet out from the day before but luckily it was durable enough. Only problem I had so far was one jam when I first got it it jammed up bit I found out if I keep loading a abundance amount of balls then it will keep shooting. You can't really just load like 3 balls.

Pretty cool!

I'm an adult and this thing really shoots the balls out fast for one timers and passes! It's a great tool to get your timing down. My kids have a blast with it as well!

Plastic construction, but works just fine.

Bought this more for my son, than me. He is a 10 year old hockey goalie. I have been setting up on a box and using it for him to practice catching and such. He started to use it the way it was intended. The battery life seems good, not great, but good. The balls it uses are a bit light to be a "puck" but not too bad. Works with the timing. I think the velocity is about right for a 10-11 year old. Much older and the speed is a bit slow for reality. However, great to learn the hand-eye coordination and get the shot off. I have played with it too (I play hockey at age 43) and had some fun. Challenge at my age was low, but still had fun.

Lightweight, but works.

For the price, this is pretty nice. It runs on batteries, so isn't the most powerful thing out there, but it can shoot the lighter weight hockey balls a good 15+ feet at a decent speed for shot practice. Only gripe is that it doesn't hold a lot of balls so you have to stop and refill a lot. It looks like it's designed to allow for a extension tube at the top, but I have no idea where to get that. It'd be nice if it was included in the price. We made do by finding a large enough cardboard tub and just taped it to the top. Now it holds about 10 balls at a time. This probably won't last forever but we should get a season out of it.

My 6 year old loves it!!!

This was purchased as an Amazon Lightning deal for $29! It was supposed to be one of my 6 year old son's Christmas presents but because he is such a hockey fanatic and his hockey coach encourages the team to practice shooting drills at home I decided to give it to him early. It takes 4 D size batteries. We set it up in the basement next to his hockey net and loaded it with Franklin street hockey balls (comes with 4 but it fits 10). There is a red light that flashes right before the pass so that the player can anticipate the pass and get ready for the shot. He absolutely loves it!!!! He spent hours using this the first day and was able to practice independently. Very happy with this purchase especially since it is so easy to use and only cost $29! I can see my son improving his goal shooting and "one timer" shots with this item and I can see him using this daily all season (with or without roller hockey skates). Once spring and summer roll around he will have fun using this outdoors as well. Great item, recommended for all hockey kids!!!

Generally good, but ...

It's a very useful product but the quality wasn't consistent. The first one I got didn't work. I had it replaced. The second one worked well for about 4 months of use 1x/2x per week. It ultimately broke. I got a third unit which worked but the balls came out very, very slowly. I returned that one and the one I have now works generally well. During Covid, it was a great product to have.

Not a toy! Training device.

Gift for grandson. 9 yr old hockey fanatic. Worried that it would even work, and durability. It works. He loves it.

Powerful and Fast passes

LED light comes on and a nice quick pass comes your way. Great practice for one-timers and slap shots. Kids thru adults had a blast. My grandson loved the gift and as well as his father. Best to order extra balls as it hold up to nine total so you could use 5 more. Don't forget you need (4) D size batteries.

Stop working after short use - poor quality

It rev's up but it stopped releasing balls within a few minutes of first use. So disappointed. Neat idea but poorly designed. I saw the other reviews that it fails to release balls after a few uses but thought I'd take a chance. Wish I had not bothered. I am returning it.

Awful

Apparently, this is NHL approved. Not sure how that was managed. This feeder generates no power at all and is, to all intents and purposes, just a bit of plastic that hits a ball as hard as a 3 year old would. As a toy, it may well be fine but as a sports product, not a chance.
