Great Fix

It was a little tricky to install but a great fix. Better than buying a new stove when everything but the main oven was great. Really appreciated the professional support available but didn't have to use it. Also enclosed with the part were installation instructions from GE.

Had to access connector from back of oven.

Sensor connector wire was held by a reusable plastic retainer clip on back of oven. Good for me. Happy that I cleaned under oven and had such great access to pry apart connector. Not a five minute job as you always hear. Just needed 1/4 nut driver, flashlight, and a very small, narrow tool to unclip connector. PS. I put tape on exposed female connector to keep insulation out of it as I pushed it through to back of oven.

Perfect replacement

Needed this to replace a faulty oven sensor. Super easy to install, no need to call a repairman if you're even slighly handy. You should be able to simply unplug it and plug the new one in, unless the clip is too far behind the back of the oven and gets caught on the insulation, which was our situation, then you will need two people to pull the oven from the wall and feed the line through.

It worked!

Christmas was almost ruined by an oven that just wouldn't stay hot enough. Saved a 21 year old GE electric range by replacing the oven thermostat. It was a two person job with pulling the range out, removing the back plate, and pushing the new wiring through. Old part had a small, oxidized spot on the metal rod that may have been the problem. I bought a cheap thermometer to hang inside the oven to test-- temps are now spot on. So much less expensive to buy the Amazon Warehouse "like new" version, about 80% less! Don't forget to check the other sellers.

I soldered the wires together and seal with the silicon gel tape pushed it all back into the back of the stove through the insulation and it has been working fine. Tip

Product arrived as expected and fixed the issue I was having with the range. The thermostat was exactly as pictured and had a quick connect on the end, instructions were clear that some models would require you to cut off the quick connector and strip wires back to connect to the existing wires. No problem here as they do not require the wires to be matched up , only two wires and they connect any wire to any wire. The package also came with two ceramic wire nuts ( twist connectors ) and there was my problem, these wire nuts were too big and would not twist on to the wires, they would not lock on and kept falling off. Took me several hours to find a store that had heat resistant silicon gel tape ( 500 degree rating ) . I soldered the wires together and seal with the silicon gel tape pushed it all back into the back of the stove through the insulation and it has been working fine. Tip : pick up some hemostats at the auto or hardware store, you will want something to clip onto the wire coming through the back of the stove to make sure it does not retract back into the stove forcing you to completely remove the stove from the cabinet enclosure.

Part as designed

This part was an exact match. New packaging and helpful installation instructions. Hardest part of the installation is getting to the rear of your oven to disconnect the old part and install the new. About a 1 hour job. 4 stars only because it did not solve my issue with the oven. Could not return since package is now open.
