Love these!

Wanted a thinner set like the ones we got 22 years ago when we got married. Looked at the back for the maker & these are by the same one. The older set is discontinued, but these are very similar. Not too heavy/thick. Perfect weight & grip!

Defective set?

Every knife in the set rusted within 6 weeks of first use despite the claim of being dishwasher safe and having a 25-year warranty. I've never seen anything like this happen to flatware before! Amazon was great about issuing a refund but I can't recommend this set at all.

Elegant frosted silverware!!

Very pretty & sturdy silverware in my opinion...a simple, but elegant design on this set (called "Motif.") (It reminded me of the silverware set we had used when I was growing up, so that's why I got it.) The instructions say they're "dishwasher safe" but "handwashing is recommended" which I can see would probably be the best way to preserve this particular design since they have a "matte" frosted/polished appearance on all the handles of the silverware, which makes them especially beautiful & elegant-appearing, but I can see where that could maybe get scratched more easily in the dishwasher or with a rough sponge, or with repeated use. It says to use a "non-abrasive" sponge on them which would be necessary. I may wind up using these more for when company comes over since they're so nice! The larger spoons & forks in the set are of a decent-size, as are the knives, which I think would also make the larger spoons & forks great for serving food over holidays or when guests are visiting. For instance, guests could use one of the large forks for picking meats/cheeses off of a large serving plate, or the large spoons could be used for guests to spoon desserts onto their plate, or foods out of a casserole dish, etc. They'd dress up any event with a little decorative flair! I gave them 4 stars only because the frosted/matte handles while making them more beautiful & elegant-feeling, also could make them more apt to getting noticeably scratched over time (although they do describe them as being "frosted" in their Amazon description, so that IS mentioned! I just couldn't see the frosting in the advertised photos, so I wasn't sure what that meant or how they'd actually look in person.) They're beautiful silverware in my opinion & the utensils are of a good-size & sturdy for larger hands (not really for younger children though.) They're currently set at what I feel is a decent price for elegant-looking silverware, especially if they happen to be marked down. :)
