Well made for the price

I'm going to review this light therapy lamp based on design, features, and build quality rather than on whether or not it actually works because all light therapy units function under the same theory that exposure to sunlight can reduce depression and increase energy for some people. This unit looks like an old-style tablet with bezels on three sides and a thick chin at the bottom. The screen is 11" diagonally which is a pretty good size but some people might prefer a larger light or one that is shaped more narrowly and can be focused directly at the eyes--with this unit you need to focus your eyes on the screen. There are 5 brightness levels, 5 color temperature adjustments, a power switch, and a timer that can be set for up to one hour in 15-minute increments. A fold-out leg on the back allows you to adjust the angle of the screen if this is sitting on a table and a round hole above that for the included AC adapter. Everything is plastic except for the metal pin for the charging plug. On the whole, the build quality seems to be pretty solid with the exception of the angle adjustment leg which seems kind of flimsy to me. The buttons on the front are the flat pressure-controlled type and are very responsive. For a light therapy lamp at a fairly low price point, this seems to be pretty well made. It gets plenty bright and the bezels and thick chin make it easy to hold while using instead of setting it down on a table or desk. If you want a tablet-style light therapy lamp and don't have a lot of money to spend this is a solid option.

Light Therapy + Working from Home = Sublime Life

The HILOLY light therapy lamp is exactly what the MD ordered...quite literally! Being indoors ALL DAY and also working from home has me limited to the amount of sunlight exposure. Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD) is a real mental health disorder and in some cases a therapy lamp is recommended. Instead of waiting for the doldrums to hit me, I decided to get one of these lamps. The lamp is feature rich and offers all kinds of brightness and color warmth settings. In addition, the lamp is very unobtrusive and doesn't take up a lot of space. I haven't owned it enough to see the true benefits of light therapy, but it is nice to have light and warmth on my face as I'm sitting in front of my computer screens. There is a timer dial on the front to apply light for specific duration. I would imagine that too long of exposure would be annoying, because the light can be overly bright. If you do end up getting a therapy lamp, I suggest you do a little reading on your own to determine the best setting and duration for your personal needs. Overall Impression: If you're feeling sad during the winter months, then maybe it's time to look into the HILOLY Sunlight Lamp. I'm glad I did.

My Favorite Of These That I Have Tried

Winter is brutal for me sometimes. This is one of those years. Some months we get maybe 8 hours of sunlight TOTAL. That is where this light comes in. HOW THIS COMES This comes in a box well padded with a plug. IS THIS RECHARGEABLE? No, this has to be plugged in to use. LIGHT TEMPS There are 3 light choices. I find that the most yellow one represents the sunlight best for me. The controls are very easy to read and use. TIMER The timer works beautifully. It is very easy to see and the dial lights up for the time you set it for. LIGHT The light itself is wonderful. It is a little smaller than a sheet of typical paper like printer paper. I set this on the brightest setting and it works beautifully. It is easy to look at what I am doing and have this offset to the side so it is not in my eyes. CORD The cord is a thin cord with a transformer box end on it- so you will need to have room on the outlet strip or outlet to put it in. It is only between 4-5 ft long so you will need to find a place to use it that it will be near a plug. DOES IT HELP? I have to say this light seems to help me. The last week has been hard because the gray skies make me really drag. I put this light on me for half an hour and I am feeling energetic and clear headed again. I also use it in the mornings when I am unsure of what the day will be like. Occasionally I use it in the evening when it starts to get dark around 5 PM and I get another round of energy to get me to bed time. THE BOTTOM LINE This is a great light. I feel it has helped me through some rough patches this winter and I am very thankful for it. MY RATING FIVE STARS. This light is well made and it works so well that I make sure to have it handy all winter this year.

Nice light therapy lamp!

I live in the subtropics, but my house doesn't have windows placed for optimal sunlight, and in the winter it can be quite dark and drab indoors. This affects the mood of everyone, and previously there was little to be done for it when the skies are cloudy for days if not weeks at a time. This lamp is excellent for fighting off the winter nasties and brightening my family's demeanor! It's easy to use, very bright at its maximum, and I like the timer function for each person to get a turn with it. The slim profile of this lamp is great for our small spaces, and the cord has enough length to reach our outlets. I also like the five temperature light settings- blue for the daytime, yellow for evenings to help wind down, and in-between as wanted. The touch controls are quite responsive, and operation of this lamp is simple. I plan to keep using this lamp year-round, since my ceiling lighting isn't the best and these lamps are good for lighting up a desk area. I'm quite satisfied with this light therapy lamp- it performs quite well for my desires, and suits my needs.
