Volumizing and Smoothing

Rollers heat up quickly and are great for adding volume and smoothness. The flocking on each roller protects your hair. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars is because the clips are terrible and won't hold the rollers in your hair. I will be ordering better clips. Great price for 8 rollers...other brands only have 5 rollers for the same price. Conair is a great brand as the last set I had were Conair and the just quit working after 36 years!! Yes, they were purchased in 1987 and it's now 2023!

Works well - but would prefer a slightly smaller rod

My old Conair hair setters are not heating up as they should have had them a very long time. Was unsure about the size of these; could have gone down to a set that is 1.5 round. The Conair rollers do not tangle; a huge plus

Great for long hair

This works great to smooth and give wave to long hair. It heats up quickly and is easy to clip the rollers into place. Big time saver over curling iron. I just wish it came with spare clips in case one should break.

Great curlers - replace the clips.

The texture of the roller is fantastic, and the size is just what you need for the bang/crown area. I would however get the upgraded clips, the ones the unit comes with aren’t great.

More of a volume curler than an actual curler

So ive been trying this for a few times and I like the volume it gives me really nice. However it doesn't really curl as much as I'd like. The ends curl I feel becuase its closest to the heated curlers but overall if your looking for a full curls I'd wouldn't recommend but for bounce and volume I would suggest this

Not for thin hair!

The clips to keep rollers in your hair are hard to attach for me as my hair is thin. I can imagine they work well with thick hair. I use a setting spray on my hair prior to use, so they provide the curl that I want. Don’t know if they would without it.

Clips are horrible

The rollers themselves are nice and heat up quite well. The clips provided are useless. I could not get the rollers to stay in my hair. There needs to be a better design to clamp around the entire roller.

Heats up fast and hotter than john frieda

I have the john frieda smooth waves set with only 5 rollers and needed more rollers. This set heats up a lot faster than the john frieda set. The clips with this set are WAY better than the comb looking clips. The trick is to clamp these clips over the hair and roller, then spin it so the clamp is against the head (see photo) Spin one way and if it doesn't hold, spin the other way and it will. Just a learning curve of which way to spin the clips. I actually prefer the john frieda set because of the fact that it has 2 heat settings and my hair is pretty fine and damaged, so I want the lower heat setting. Note: this set gets much hotter than the john frieda one on it's low setting. John frieda is also made by conair and not sure the warranty on that one, but this one has 3 years which was appealing. Bottom line: Buy this one if you want fast heat up and high temperature Buy john frieda one if you have damaged hair and want a lower heat and don't mind the slower heat up Buy roller set with this style of clip, not the comb looking clips if you want clips that hold

Blow Out Effect - Not Curls

Folks a 2 inch roller is to rid frizz and give you a blow out effect. For this it gets a 10 out of 10, you want curls go with a 1inch. I have super frizzy hair after a blow dry, I throw these in while I do my make up and this is the final product. These are not going to curl your hair

This is essentially a blowout … I am a hairstylist and I myself have extremely long thick beautiful hair… The idea with these especially if you have layers is to give you a blowout look… I repeat these do not curl your hair. I am stating this because of the fact so many people are commenting saying that they suck… They do not, they are phenomenal

Very large and heavy

I have been using hot rollers for years so I am very familiar with them. I wanted to get a set that were large and all of the same size as my current set is 50/50 large/medium size. Unfortunately these jumbo rollers are just too big for my length of hair. (Just above shoulder length) I have very thick hair so I thought they might work but they are not only too big they are also too heavy. The clips that come with them are more of a 2 pronged claw and don’t do a great job of holding the rollers in place. If I were to keep them I would definitely get different clips. They seem to heat up very fast although the instructions say the heat indicator light should turn from red to white when ready and it does not - it stays red. If you are looking for curls these are definitely not the rollers for you but if you are looking for some body and bounce and have hair that is at least shoulder length or below and somewhat average to thick hair density, you might really like them (if you can get them to stay in). The price for these is fair but I would definitely be buying different clips and I do not see these being useful at all for travel.

you just cant win

the size and value of these rollers would be great except they’re too heavy for any clips to hold them in place because they’re so massive. The volume and bounce are beautiful but it doesn't matter how many clips you use they don’t stay put and they just rip out your hair. I have the other size Conairs and those are much better even though they dont give as nice of an style. Cant win :(
