Johnson 8x12 Framing Square

Great framing square for the money, I wish it was etched or stamped. The problem with thermal bond is it will peel off over time with wear and tear. But for 8$ you can’t go wrong with this square. I didn’t have the problem with the sticker coming off as I seen others. I would recommend to others, and plan on buying more of the 16x24 stainless steel CS12 when back in stock.

arrived damaged

Product was obviously used. Still a great value for the money, but some marks are so damaged they're unreadable. Was under the impression I was purchasing a new product

Can't remove sticker

The ruler comes with a sticker on the side thats I can't get off. Unless you feel like scrubbing a ruler with goo-gone for 10 minutes, you're going to have an ugly sticker on one side that obscures the numbers. 2 stars for being otherwise functional and sturdy.

Does what it's supposed to do....

I was a bit surprised to hear that some people received squares that weren't very accurate. I purchased it to do some leather work and after comparing it to one of my precision ground die-makers square, found it to be relatively true...it's far more accurate than necessary for carpentry work, which is what it is meant for. The only reason I gave it a four star is due to the fact that it has heat bonded numbering rather than stamped/etched characters and is no longer made in the USA like the rest of my Johnson tools.

Accurate and not too heavy

I wanted to use it for my sewing and wanted something more sturdy than plastic. This device should work just fine however in hindsight I probably should have ordered a device that also has metric measurements on one side. Both sides display inches.

Scale Marking under the label

The carpenter square arrived with a label on one side, peeling off the label peeled off 50% of the scale marking underneath. There is imperial marking scale on both sides but I do not think they will survive for too long. Given the fact that it's made of a solid piece of steel and it priced as an add-on item, I'd still give it a 3 stars rating.
