Great toy!
My daughter first played with one at our local library and she really liked it so I decided to purchase her one. She plays with it everyday. Some of the flower pieces can be hard to pull out at first but after a few weeks it became easier.

Adorable fine motor toy
My patients love this toy, it is a little in sturdy but I hold the bottom while my patient puts in the flowers. Perfect for fine motor and cause and effect play.

A strange thing that doesn't look very interesting .....
It doesn't pop, I assume they mean you pop them on and pop them off yourself. When I got it out of the box, I thought what will my 1 year old Granddaughter do with this? But I gave it to her anyway and she loves it, spends ages putting the flowers on and off.

A well-designed educational toy made with a good quality plastic material.
Carlos the pop and count cactus is a delightful cactus who helps children to learn and count their numbers from 1 to 10 as well as learning colours and teaching fine motor skills along with hand and eye coordination. Carlos the cactus has a different facial expression on each side, both of which are happy and he comes with a selection 10 x numbered cactus flowers and 4 x plain coloured flowers. The surface on the cactus flowers is textured and each petal is small and easy for my 15-month-old granddaughter to grab hold of. The other flower petals have a smooth surface, so all of the flowers provide a sensory and tactile interest for my granddaughter. There are even raised dots over the cactus itself, which my granddaughter enjoys running her fingers across. The flowers fit snuggly into any of the holes on the cactus and this is a little challenging for my granddaughter to fit in completely by herself at the moment. This toy is however, recommended for children aged 18+ months, so my granddaughter is a little young, but it doesn’t stop her from enjoying playing with the flowers and I don’t think it will be long before she is able to gain the fine motor skills required to fit the flowers into the holes by herself. When playing is finished, all of the flowers can be stored in the flower pot, which has a lip on the lid that slots easily and securely onto the pot. This toy is also supplied with a leaflet that suggest various activities that you can do with your child making use of the learning/educational aspects of this toy. I think that the current price of £12.49 is excellent value for money and I am happy to recommend.

Fantastic for 18 month old, counting and colours!
I'm so happy we got this for my 18 month old. She is advancing so quickly so needs more educational toys like this one. She immediately took to it too.. The colours and the numbers. Pros: • Excellent for motor skills • Aids with numbers and colours • Cute design with pot doubling as storage • Daughter loves it Cons: • None The cactus is an amazing toy. I'm so glad my little girl is at the age where she can play with interesting toys and not just noisy toys. I love being able to sit with her and teach whilst we play. I was surprised how much she engaged with it straight away. You get 4 numberless flowers (pink, blue, yellow and purple), and flowers 1-10 varying from orange, green and blue. It took my girl a little while the first time to figure out what to do, but once she realised how to pop the flowers in she loved it. I had to teach her to stabilise the cactus with her other handle when she was pushing flowers in, as sometimes it would topple over, but she quickly got it. I actually honestly think playing with this has solidified her understanding of counting. She has been counting to 10 far more confidently and can estimate what to do next. She doesn't understand the writing yet, but in time she'll pick that up. I love that about the toy too, how you can use it for different purposes. And you can also get them to put all the flowers away at the end. They do stay in quite firmly though, so we tend to just leave them in. My girl will often just swap colours around or just go and play with it by herself. All in all, it's an excellent toy. The design with the little face is cute, the colours are nice and vivid, it's a good size, the flower pot is a nice touch for storage and generally it's a lovely, unique toy that is durable and good quality. Absolutely recommended for toddlers for helping their learning journeys.
