Rusted after just washing them

Haven’t even used them yet 4 of them already rusted. Just washed and let air dry.

Home cocktail set with display appeal

Mikasa is a trusted housewares brand, so I knew this product could be a good bet to level up our home bar. The material look and feel is of a good quality. It's not the most high-end set, but if you need a set of the essential cocktail tools that doesn't break the bank this might be it. The price point is still a bit high, so look at your options. We had all the wine tools we needed, so this filled the gaps we had for making cocktails. I'm not sure how this would hold up to more frequent use, but for us occasional use should work well. The stand provides a way to organize and display the set, which is better than all the pieces shuffled in a drawer. Pair with some vintage whiskey glasses and decanter, and you're all set.

Great addition to any bar, with a few minor flaws

I love Mikasa products, and this bar set doesn’t disappoint. It is beautiful and well made of quality materials. In my home bar, I have been using shakers, jiggers and other items included in this set for years. They had no place for me to easily display and store them all. These items are heavy feeling and high quality, they look great and the wood storage rack is high quality solid wood. (see pic) Even the box it came in is attractive. That said, there was a flaw in the wood stand I received. There was a small crack through the wood next to the shaker, apparently the result of a natural knot in the wood. (see pic) One drop of instant glue fixed it. In the package, the wood stand was coated in fine dust, as if it was packed from a dusty shop. The other items were spotless..The wood cleaned up easily with a damp cloth. I would have liked to have a bar spoon and wine opener included, nearly every bar needs these as well. The included knife I received is not sharp enough to cut citrus fruit unless it is sharpened after unpacking. These minor flaws will not interfere with my enjoyment of this set for many years.. I hope this informations is helpful.

Beautiful set

This really is an attractive bar set - very stylish. The wood is lovely and the materials of the rest of the set are quality. It contains everything I need as a home bartender - and a couple of things I don’t but others do. The manufacturer says that all items are dishwasher safe but I never put my shaker into the dishwasher - it’s a hand wash item. As a starter set for new homeowners it is very complete and would make a great gift. Having said all that, it turns out that it isn’t the perfect set for me. My bar cart is a little smaller and the length of this really doesn’t fit well into my available space. I would be better off with something a bit shorter and wider as opposed to this long and narrow design. The price point seems to be bordering on a bit high. I think you could find a set equally as nice for a few dollars less.

Great set for beginner baristas

This set is pretty complete - but a great starter set for someone getting into bar making. Easy to use and dishwasher safe! I am not using the wooden stand and instead am housing the tools in a glass mixing cup - I personally like the aesthetic better that way and it saves more space. This is also a great idea for a gift for your cocktail making enthusiast friends.

Everything you need

This set has everything you need to make most drinks. It has a double sided jigger, strainer, shaker, muddler, knife, tongs, and a cap remover. All of this in one narrow wood stand, and I point out that it's narrow, because it takes up little space, and is really good about not being in the way. I have a small wet bar in the basement of the house we just moved into, it's a dated space, and currently getting a revamp bit by bit. Because of this, I don't have as much space as I normally would, and I'm frequently finding that I have just a small corner to put my tools and such. Lately everything has been on the lower counter of the bar, with a drop cloth tossed over it to protect everything. But there are times that nothing is going to happen for a while, so I clean things up, uncover the bar, and it's open. This wood rack sits in a small area, with a couple other tools (wine bottle opener, salt rim case, small cutting board, pair of scissors, are my must haves) and I have everything I need. I'll be doing this probably until mid summer since this is a low priority project (I have a whole house and its utility equipment to address), but luckily one I can piece together mostly inexpensively, and when it's done, I already know where this is going on the new counter, still out of the way, still with everything I need. I do hand wash everything. I don't have, nor do I intend to install a dishwasher downstairs, feels like a bit much. So I give it a quick hand wash, and I let it all air dry on a towel. I've had no issues with anything, and luckily I don't have hard water in this house, so there's no spots or anything like I had in my previous house that left a white film on practically everything. Keep this set in mind though, I did check the price on here and it is about twenty bucks lower than a set I previously bought at a name brand discount store, and that one had less tools and didn't last long in terms of quality.
