Sturdy-better than what I expected for the price

No ice yet so I haven’t been out with them but what I can say is that they work fine on my dry run. They seem pretty sturdy. The reels seem to be larger than most which I think will make it easier to work with on the ice. And they come with a Minnow net!!!

good deal and with a little work THE BEST DEAL.

I bought these from my local hardware store in a pinch a few years ago, they are inexpensive for a reason. that being said, they work just as well as my friends $70 traps except the following, the flag holder is a side hook not a ring hook so you can get wind ups if you don't place the trap in the right angle to the wind if the wind is bad, second, there is no finish on the wood so now that I've used the for a few years I'm going to dissemble them and put on some clear coat this off season, third, the thumb screws do loosen like most traps as used. make sure you pay attention and you won't have the problems some people are complaining about in reviews. ( if it's really annoying use some spray glue ((light hold or preferably tacky/ flex hold and not water base)) on the nuts to make them not turn as much when you use them. or better yet get ny-lock nuts (aka aircraft nuts) instead of the normal wing nuts they use) fyi this year I pulled 5.2 lbs small mouth bass out 2 weeks ago off these traps,

they work

they will absolutely get the job done but keep in mind you get what you pay for. These things are made with very cheap wood. I also found they are a bit sensitive. If you are out on a windy day or if you are using live bait they can be tripped fairly easily giving you a false flag up. If you don't mind running around checking your lines then that isn't that big of a deal. The positive is that they are a cheap way to test out if you even like ice fishing using tip ups. The wood comes untreated so if you want them to last you may want to paint or stain them. Overall if you are new to ice fishing or on a budget these WILL get the job done and help you pull up some fish.

Get what you pay for

Cheap tip ups but they do work! And held up to a pickerel of good size! Added some staples to hold the flag inplace when folded up for storage… added some glue to tips of screws to hold them in the wood! Other than that they all still solid and in use

Cheaply made

It was a windy winter day and had my lines set and then the flags blew off on two of the three tip ups. The metal clips that held the flags came off. I returned for a refund

They work but I have some worries.

You get what you pay for. I did not find anything inherently wrong with them and had no breakage after 7 or 8 days on the ice. Things I noticed on the ice that made me nervous starts with the line sitting too high on the tip up. Most I've seen either place the line in the water or outside the hole. These have the line in the area where if you don't keep your holes clear ice will gather around your line. The line also seems tight while everything else seemed loose. With that said I didn't get any wind ups either and I never lost the bait so they are alright.
