Very happy with it, but it is NOT made in Chile!

It's exactly what I wanted but I prefer not to patronize China-made products. It says country of origin is Chile, but that is the importer. The grater says it's made in China.

Great quality standard steel grater - very simple and traditional design (which is what I like and wanted)

I needed an simple SS grater and this fit the bill. At 8 bucks, I figured I had very little to lose. For the most part, I think it is a good product. It is relatively solid, it performs the functions to shred to a variety of different sizes, the portions that actually do the cutting came very sharp, the Grater holds up to occasional dishwasher usage, and the steel used does a pretty good job at resisting rust. It is also comfortable to use and the handle is pretty well designed. On the flip side, this is a product that really should be hand-washed (as noted). The stainless steel used does a pretty good job at resisting rust, but it will rust if not cared for and some dishwashers can really push steel in this department. Like knives, it should be washed shortly or immediately after usage, and preferably dried immediately after washing (which isn't all that big of a deal). Additionally, the steel itself must not be super hard because over time, my grater has lost a lot of its sharpness on the larger size I use the most, and it now requires more effort to grate items that are not super soft (it still grates things like cheese super easily and effectively). This part is my biggest letdown with the Grater. If I could do it over again, I would probably buy a slightly higher-end unit in a somewhat harder steel. While mine is still usable, it's probably going to need replacement within a year or two at the rate it's going (the last one I had was older than me). Still, I think it overall is a really good product and like most of what NorPro offers, exceptional values given the quality is generally very good and the price is fantastic.

Top is lose apon arrival.

It's a very cheap cheese grater. Nothing more to say. It's does its job but the handle is lose already and I've used it 1 time. If the handle falls off I'll keep using it.

Would have been perfect if made of heavier guage stainless steel

Would have preferred a heavy duty grater that could last. This is a hit too light not sure if it will last

Box grater

I was pleased to find a box grater easier than I did my last one -- in fact I didn't find it, my mother-in-law (jn another state) did and gave it to me . This is a good grater! It is lighter and less sturdier than my old-timey ones that finally broke (the one I had for decades and then the one my mother-in-law got me), but it gets the job done! I am pleased I could find this versatile box grater. My 6 yr old great-niece can hold this one easier and asked her Mom (my niece) that they need to get one for their house too!

Better than expected!

How often are you pleasantly surprised by an online purchase? I love the size- slightly bigger than the one I used to have, making it easier to handle and more surface to use. Sticker says made in India. Good quality metal that doesn't fluctuate with use. Decent craftmanship in smoothing out the corners so I'm not scratching up my knuckles trying to clean it. Handle could be wider but is sufficient. I would have preferred 2 sides dedicated to grating cheese, where this instead has one for cheese and two rough sides for shredding food. It would have been nice to have a removable plastic cover to slide underneath for the option of keeping food contained within the grater. My prior grater also had one clear plastic side with measuring marks for a built in measuring cup. But my prior grater fell apart at that seem, so I guess using a separate cup is worth product stability. An under $10 great buy.
