Perfect after tightening connections with electrical tape
Working well for two hummingbird feeders. Used the top peice, that can be used for a bird house, on the bottom to help steady the pole--since the pole is placed on a deck (versus in the ground). The pole noticeably wobbled, when initially assembling, because the sections did not tightly fit together. Since the pole met all my other criteria (i.e., no spike at the bottom and could hold more than one hummingbird feeder), I figured out a solution. I applied black electrical tape to the tappered end of the pole sections, this created a tight connection between the pole sections (i.e., no wobbling). Happy with the results.

Too short
Please note: the height is as advertised, but I’m betting most folks expect these poles to be longer. I bought extras to have extra pieces for more height, but this is certainly not ideal. Why not just add a couple extra shaft pieces?

It gets a lot of use
This pole was the easiest to install out of three separate bird feeder pole kits I bought on Amazon. You'll need a block of wood or something similar to set over the bottom stake while driving it in so you don't bend the metal with a hammer. If the ground is super hard and dry try pouring a bucket of water there and letting it soak for a while, should make it a lot softer. The assembly of the pole is easy. You could use the photo on the box to figure it out but it did come with instructions. The screws for mounting are aluminum and a bit soft so turn down the torque on your electric screwdriver or they will strip. If the wood is soft enough (like cedar) the screws should go in fine, just take your time to get them in straight. I do suggest an extended bit for this process because it's a tight squeeze to get an electric screwdriver in there. The pieces are sturdy in the ground once all assembled but remember that the bottom stake needs to be straight or the whole thing will look off. I really like this pole for it's simplicity and durability. Most importantly, the birds love it! I plan on getting at least one more.

Not as sturdy as it looks!
Finally got around to putting this together and as I thought from just looking at it, it’s NOT sturdy. The material it’s made of is sturdy and looks really nice but the sections don’t fit together tight like they should so it’s wobbly from top to bottom. I put a small birdhouse on the top but it doesn’t fit tight to the pole either so its wobbly and turns around real easy. I don’t think there is any pieces missing, it just not made right. The bottom doesn’t have a stake, you just put the tube in the ground about 12” so it’s shorter than I wanted. I added a Shepard hook next too it and zipped tied it together to help steady it, but not sure it will survive the wind. It’s too expensive for what you get. If you’re looking for a sturdy pole for you bird feeders/houses this ain’t it! I gave it 2 stars because it is made of nice material and I like the design.

Very sturdy
I love to feed birds! I bought one of these last year and knew nothing else would make me happy. I used the mounting hardware at first when I wanted to put a wooden feeder on top of the pole. Later I bought a plastic feeder that could be mounted on a pole. I removed the wooden feeder and the mounting hardware. The feeder was a perfect fit. I also added a squirrel baffle that was not made by Pennington. It was a perfect fit, so this pole must be of a size that is commonly used by many manufacturers. The side hooks are also very strong. I have used them for feeders that weigh 5 lbs. when they are full. I would recommend a rubber hammer or a metal hammer and a wood block when sinking the first section of the pole into the ground.

Not sturdy enough to work
The pole comes in segments that have no proper way to securely attached to each other and there is no spike or prongs at the bottom so it just wobbles and shakes and pulls out of the dirt very easily

short, but sturdy
I have a few bird poles, most of them arent very sturdy. This one is constructed well and is quite durable. No plastic pieces to speak off. It was very easy to assemble & install with a rubber mallet. I will say the one downside its once its in the ground its shorter than I am. Where the feeders hang is about 4'9-5ft. Im not sure my orioles will like to feed so low, but we'll see. I wouldve liked if it had 1-2 more pole extensions with it. Otherwise, Im quite happy with it.

On my second one!
Had to reorder as a bear ruined my last one. Works prefect for two feeders.

it's ok
I think for the price, it's alright. There appear there are better systems out there, but I haven't tried those so I can't fairly compare. What I can say is that it would be better with a stabilization pole. It's also not very high once put into the ground. If you add a squirrel baffle it won't be high enough - as I tried my baffle as high as it could go, and squirrels were still jumping beyond it. If you don't use a baffle, the pole is no match for them to climb up on their own. The two hooks to hang the feeders are stabilized through a set of notches at the top of the pole. with a platform on the top of the pole to house a birdhouse or feeder directly on top (mounted). for the notched system for the poles directly underneath there are two flat pieces about an inch and half apart. the top piece where you first put in the hook has a little metal weld holding it up. it's so small that instantly broke once i put the weight of the feeder on (about 5 pounds). therefore the solder didn't hold, and the two pieces are more sitting on top of each other. it still holds the hooks, and therefore the feeders, but it's not as 'straight' as it could be without the gap the solder was attempting to provide. All in all I see there are some more expensive options that are comparable, and this simply could be a 'get what you pay for scenario'. It is working and still upright so I gave it 3 stars.

Don't waste you money!
Pieces of the pole slide into each other well, but DON'T try to pick it up to install, it falls apart! No mechanism to keep the pieces together. Flat bottom not ideal to insert into the ground. Attachment arms to hang feeders are not secured; they just sit in so they move around. I do no recommend this at all! If I didn't trash the box, I would send it back for a refund.

No sure about premium pole
Made well and easy to assemble but it come with no instructions or a few screws to attach a feeder on top. By the time you also drive into the ground the pole is short. I write to manufacturer about a week ago with question and nothing back. Ok for price.

Bird feeder Pole
I like the idea it is thicker than most, but the bottom should be tapered to a narrow spike. Not easy to pound into the ground, unless it is installed after a good down pour. All in all it is still a good feeder pole.

Not very sturdy but does the job
It does the job but there was no sturdy way to hold it in the ground. I had to screw all the pieces together as it comes in sections.
