Uses plastic lock part inside (not metal)

This is for a reverse clamp style door (not a lot of those around anymore I guess as this was hard to find). The ones at the box stores are the opposite clamp (why could this not be developed to do both ways and be interchangeable). The box stores the part is metal not the plastic that is in this one so I am sure it will break.

overpriced, poor quality, but only option

This is the only replacement door handle that I could find with a reverse latch - needed for my WindowMaster Series 500 sliding patio door. The manufacturers seem to know that, so they charge double the price of the exact same model (same die cast) without the reverse latch. I was willing to pay, but as you can see from the photo, right out of the box, the item was poorly made and the latch was crooked so it didn't catch properly in my door frame. I called the mfr and they basically said "they are what they are". I had no choice but to take the thing apart and bend the latch and reassemble for it to work. Now it's OK and the handle looks OK, but again, wildly overpriced and poor quality. Note that the key internal part that closes the latch is flimsy plastic and is likely to break or wear out rather quickly - as others have pointed out in their reviews.

Seriously overpriced!

I had originally purchased this at a large Home Department store for $35. The one from the Box store even came with an additional extra long clamp. I discovered I needed a reverse clamp and had to purchase from Amazon. Imagine my surprise at an almost $100 ticket, and doesn't even come with an additional clamp (which i need). I can't for the life of me understand why the EXACT same product/brand would be so much more expensive and not come with a basic offering of their more 'standard' model, when the only difference is a reverse in the bend of the clamp. Had to return as clamp did not reach door jamb. Still trying to find a product.

Easy install

I searched everywhere for a reverse latch patio door lock. The handle is easy to install. The only thing different I had to do was loosen the screw where it locks because it wouldn't unlock all the way.

Cheap plastic internals

104 dollars and it has plastic internal parts. The plastic locking mechanism broke within 3 months. Cheap china

Only lock that works

This was the only left handed clamp lock I could fins for my unorthadox patio door install. They work great
