Work well, if...
These work incredibly well. For me this meant worked well for the first five or six uses, then the headband broke just putting them on. Hint: if you use these at the range, make sure you have back up hearing protection. Of course you can spend $21 on their site for a new headband, which I just did, but even if you get ten uses per headband, it can add up to a lot of money that could have gone to cheap plugs and more ammo. Here's the up side. I contacted Pro Ears via email, and they are going to refund my money for the headband, and send me the new headband. Very fast response time by them. Edit, July 8, 2013: I had the band adjusted for my mellon, and gave them to my wife to wear. She has a small head, and snapped the band putting them on. The band is the weakness in these. I just ordered a few to have on hand. The muffs still work great, still on the same batteries, and I've forgotten to turn them off a few times. I shoot with them once a week, and I use them quite a bit in my wood shop. They're great while running the planer, which is way too loud, and hooking them up to the ipod. You turn them on at the lowest volume possible, and you can actually listen to podcasts at a reasonable volume and understand everything while running the planer. When at the range, I can turn these up and hear way better than I usually do, and they seamlessly blocks gunfire noise. Edit, October 27, 2013: I've since broken another headband. Yesterday I discovered one of the muffs doesn't work anymore. The electronic part. I changed batteries, a couple different new batteries just in case, and nothing. So, I spent over $220 on a pair of muffs, plus around $60 on replacement bands. Amazing what $280 bucks does nowadays. I honestly babied these things, too. I just placed an order in for a $45 pair of Howard Leight ear pro. Can't be worse, and I could have bought 5-6 pair for the cost of one pair of these Pro Ears. Three stars for performance while they lasted, zero stars for quality and durability. They'd have to send me a brand new pair free that lasted more than a couple years before I recommended them, either here, or to my shooting friends.

THE BEST- none better!
I shoot a lot and I still have my hearing. I had the first pair seen at my gun club in Australia...now four of my friends own a pair after trying mine. Once you use these, you'll never want to wear non-electronic- or cheap, electronic phones. They're also essential if you do traniing or take training. you'll never miss a word of the conversation. And the response time is so quick, you don't even realise they're working and they are the only brand phones I've ever used that DO NOT have an annoying, perceptible audio volume increase following a noise attenuation. With cheap electronic phones, you can hear the volume rise after they cut off a loud sound, and that's just annoying. Pro-Ears don't do that as their circuitry is just that much better. Also, Pro Ears use two separate circuit boards-one in each cup...so no wires running thru the headband. the volume knobs are silky smooth and will not turn by themselves. The ear cups are easily replaceable so you can put on a new set after you've used hem for five or ten years and they're leather-not fake sweaty Pleather. Only one thing to remember: the headband is stiff to hold the cups against your head-SO remove them from your head with TWO HANDS so you do not stretch them excessively and break the (replaceable) headband. You WILL NOT REGRET spending the $$ for these.

Headband Broke on the Third Use
A horrible waste of money at one-tenth the price. Functionally great - but this is meaningless if you can't wear them because the headband broke - twice. I managed to Jerry-rig them back together after the first break, but they immediately broke again at another location. They are now adding to our local landfill while subtracting from our bank account.

Great product, but, where is the plastic box that was displayed in the picture?
I would have given this purchase 5 stars because the product is first rate. I gave it 4 stars because the picture of the product showed it was in a waterproof green foam filled case. That is what I expected to receive but it was no where to be found. Haven't we come far enough to get the pictures to match what we receive? I mean come on...your C.E.O. wants to use drones to deliver packages...I believe that might require a little more precision...Yes, I am a little disappointed...

I do like these (I own two) but now wish I had purchased something physically smaller/ slimmer. Plus our summers (lower Alabama) are warm and these get sweaty in the summer sun.

Very comfortable. The dual volume control eliminates having to turn my head to hear the range masters.

These are 30 NRR
Rating is 30 (not 33 mentioned elsewhere in the reviews). Yes they are large and that can be a disadvantage depending on your application. I gave 5 stars because these are my 3rd pair and I've loved them all. This particular model is the best for heavy continuous noise environment.
