Good overall
Good support overall. I wish the straps were shorter.

Shockingly Effective
I'm a casual distance runner and had begun dealing with IT band inflammation from training during winter months. I went through a frustrating cycle of getting a little better, then going out and running on it prematurely and exacerbating the pain on the left side of my knee. Although very skeptical, I ordered this product to try and start training again more quickly. I've been out multiple times and experience zero pain and zero discomfort when I wear this band. I prefer to wear it over joggers because it does tug my skin a bit when I wear it with shorts but I'm ecstatic to be able to be running again pain free so quickly.

Made it passible to complete Newport marathon
I have had an IT band pain for sometime, and just in case, I bought this for today’s Newport marathon. After 9 miles, my IT band started to hurt, and after a few stretches, it got so worse that I was not able to run anymore. I put this band on rather tight, and although it only mitigate the pain say by 35%, it was bearable enough to continue running thanks to this band. It was still hard to run with 65% of the remaining paid, so just for the heck of it, I tried taking this band off - after two steps without the band, a strong pain came right back in outside of my knee. I put it back on, tried a few places and tightness, and got it right and again, around 35% of the pain was alleviated. I managed to finish the race thanks to this band. I’m not sure if it was medically/physically the right thing to continue running with the band, but when I decided that I would go through with it despite the pain, this band really saved the race for me. To me, it didn’t take 100% of the pain away like some other reviewers, but for it it worked well enough for emergency use. Thank you so much!

Lifters pay attention !!
I tried to use it a few weeks before giving a review. I have experienced knee pain while lifting for over ten years. I thought I had a patella issue. I tried the patella strap with no success. After doing some research it sounded like an it band issue so I tried this. This has been amazing. I have been able to lift pain free for weeks now. The key to this strap and finding the correct placement. Once you do that, it will change everything for you. Squats, leg press, etc. no more issues.

It works
This product works well enough. It rubbed my skin raw when I wore it against my bare skin. When I wore it over leggings, it would slip down unless I had it super tight. But bottom line, I was having IT band pain and it helped me finish my race. This is great for a temporary aid, not a permanent fix.

It saved my first half- marathon
I decided to leave a review in the hope that my case would help other runners in my situation. I have been training for my first half- marathon for 13 weeks. Around the 8th week, I started to develop a pain on the lateral side of my knee, that would specially intensify as I walked downhill or down the stairs. I continued running, but as my mileage increased, the pain increased until the point where it was impossible to run. Three weeks before the race, I had a long run of 10 miles, and after the third mile, I had to stop. The pain was excruciating, and I was crushed. I thought there was no way I could run 13.1 miles. I rested for a week, but the pain was there when I went downhill or when I tried to walk a bit faster than normal. So I was at a loss and had no idea what to do. I started doing a bit of research and I concluded what my problem was: Iliotibial Band Syndrome. I was very skeptical of bands and anything that I read online that said to help, and I thought the best thing for me was to quit running for the last 2 weeks before the race and simply cross train instead. However, as time went by I was concerned that my knee was not healed. So a few days before the race, I decided to test my knee and went out for a easy jog. Disaster ! I had to quit and was not even able to run 1 mile. So I made the decision of not even showing up for the half-marathon. However, 2 days before the race, I was researching online for something that would make my knee feel better. I read many reviews and went to many running forums and websites until I stumbled upon IT band Wrap by Por-Tec. I started to read the reviews (which were incredible helpful, thank you all for taking the time to write them! ) and had a bit of hope that this might actually help me. Well, sure enough, in the morning before the race, my package arrived and I decided to run for 10 minutes and test it. At the beginning, I was unsure where to put it. The actual instructions in the package say to place it about three inches above knee cap, but the picture in the package shows it right above it. Well, I tried it both ways and I decided that three inches felt better. In my test run (one day before the race), I was able to run for 10 minutes pain free ! This was a plus, without the band, I would have been limping from my knee and in excruciating pain. race day: I decided to go to the race and give it a shot, what the heck ? I had been training for 13 weeks and the worst thing that could have happened was that I was in so much pain, that I would have to leave the race. I promised myself that at the first signal of pain, I would leave the race and be glad that I tried. I will not walk you through my thoughts on the race, lol, but I will tell you that with every stride I was waiting for the pain to kick in and make me stop. I was sure that it was coming and that I would have to abandon the race. So, miles went by and I was still running ! ha ! It worked. I did it ! 13.1 miles and the band stayed right in place and it kept me pain free all the way. After the 6th mile, I felt my knee a bit tight, but not pain. I hope this review helps, Safe running !

No pain, big gain
I've had ITBS for years, it always kicks in after 30 min playing soccer. Last week even sooner, I had to stop after 20 min. Yesterday I used this band for the first time and I could play the whole game with zero pain. I was expecting to have to give up in the first 10 min instead! During the week I also did tons of stretches and strengthening exercises for my weak hip (same side of the knee). Not sure which one helped more, but definitely I suggest to do both. Most likely you have some weak hip or glutes, or tightness, but the band surely helps the pain (not the cause). I'll keep using it and continue the physio therapy

Fixed my IT Band issues.
Great support. Comfortable. Excellent to solve IT Band issues. There is some slight rubbing on your leg from the Velcro if you do not match the exact width of the Velcro to the exact width of the neoprene. It is very easy to fix with some precise setup when putting the bands on.

I didn’t feel like it helped much for my issue.
I purchased this for IT band issues (running), but didn’t feel like it was the right thing.
