Both are improvements, but take some getting used to.

I have an older Summit climber that had their old straps and tether. I was really tired of the tether getting caught between the jaws and the tree. This looked like a good solution. For the most part it is, but it is much shorter than the old tether. The problem with this is that you really have to carefully manage the bungee tether while you are putting it on and taking it off the tree. The old tether was long enough that you could get way with having it looped outside the steel cables, not so with the bungee. It has to be inside or you're going to have trouble. Once on the tree, sometimes I can feel it pulling the pieces together when I get them really stretched out. The bungee backpack straps are an improvement. It took some getting used to, but now I feel like I can actually tighten them up so the straps are stretched around me, seems to hold tighter that way. Being stretchy can also make it easier to get the straps over my arms and up on my shoulders.

Great product, easy installation.

Installed easily on an older API Grand Slam Bowhunter climbing stand. Allows me to carry it on my back, no problem. Really like how easy it is to put on the stand and take off of the stand. It does "bungee bounce" a little bit if you dont adjust the straps tight, just some advice.

Simple, lightweight and works great!

I don't use climbers, but I do use hang-on stands and I like to be able to be mobile with them. This strap works perfect on my Gorilla hang-ons. Not sure why they only advertise it as a climber strap, as it is a great option for hang-ons as well. It's super lightweight, simple to use and seems good and durable. I got it late in the season and went in to retrieve a stand, not knowing how this strap would perform.... Had my stand strapped up in a couple minutes and walked out with it on my back with zero issues. The suspension that the straps provide is perfect as well. I also used to tether cord to attach my range finder to my bino harness... :) The price point is exactly where it should be for what it is. You can't go wrong! Any other tree stand backpack straps I looked at were at least twice the price. I definitely recommend this product!

Like the shoulder straps not a fan of the tether. They are comfortable.
