Came with a missing screw, But it compensated with how good it works!
I was really upset when I opened it and saw that a screw was missing but after a trip to Home Depot i got the screw i needed. Once I started working with it on my Troy-bilt i was pretty impressed with how great it performs!

Yet another useful attachment for Expand-It yard tools (Ryobi, etc.)
I switched from a Ryobi gas trimmer to a Ryobi electric trimmer several years ago when I became frustrated with maintaining and operating the gas unit, and I haven't looked back. This attachment allows me to trim hedges and large bushes from the same motorhead that I use for string trimming. It works fairly well, but it could be sharper. It's also fairly heavy; so it's difficult to hold high for some of my taller bushes. One redeeming feature is the adjustable angle on the attachment. For many of my bushes, I can adjust the angle so that I can easily reach the top without having to hold the trimmer and attachment at chest or shoulder height. It is made entirely of metal (except for the blade storage guards). Except for the weight and sharpness points made above, I recommend this attachment.

Works well at half the cost of name brand attachments
I purchased this to use on my Husqvarna 128LD trimmer (which it fits perfectly). It cuts well, and as many other reviewers have pointed out, it isn't meant to cut anything much bigger around than say a pencil. It's totally perfect for keeping your hedges trimmed regularly and for light tree trimming duties. I was concerned about the quality and construction of this item, but it's clearly well built, well oiled, and looks like it will hold up well to regular use. I've been following the advice of another who purchased this, and he told me to keep it well lubricated (WD40 or similar on the blades) and ensure the attachment points have some grease on them as well. The ONLY thing I can find negative about this attachment is that it is a bit heavy. No, it's not 50 pounds, but if you are using it for more than 20-30 minutes, it starts to get a bit heavy, especially if you are extending it out above your head or farther away from your body. But that's a small price to pay for the value of this thing - which was less than half the cost of some name brand attachments that I was looking at - one brand was $110, the high end brand I found was $139. So this definitely was a value purchase. I'm assuming the weight of the bigger brands is comparable to this one, and if that's the case, you'd be crazy to pay more when you could get this one.

Changed the way I trim my hedge.
Though a bit on the heavy side, it works great. I originally bought this attachment to reach the top of my corner shrubs at my house. They are as tall as the roof line of the house and I couldn't reach the top any more with a ladder. While the trimmer did a great job being able to adjust the angle to the pole, I got lazy and just started to trim the rest of the lower shrubs with this thing. I just straightened out the trimmer angle and stood back 3 feet or so from the shrubs that are about waist high and started sweeping back and forth over top at the level I wanted. Because of being back some, instead of being right on top of the hedge, I could judge how level I was cutting and the hedge came out beautiful. I guess my other hedge trimmer is going to be relegated to trimming the honey suckle vines on the back fence. Hey it looks like this never got posted and I came back to do an update, so here it is. I guess it's been three years since I bought this hedge trimmer, and I killed it today. This has been a good tool and I abuse it. Sometimes I'd put against a branch an inch or better in diameter and let it ware it's way through until it's thin enough to get a bite on. Well, that kind of wore it out and finally stripped the gears in the head, but it did it many times. I probably should have gotten my chain saw and trimmed those branches. Anyway, this trimmer worked very well, and I will be getting another one, so I'm sticking with my 5 star rating. If used reasonably this tool will probably last as long as your power head, and if not, it will give a few years of service. Anyone know where I could get a new set of gears?

Good power, needs to be a little longer
If this had a comparable length to the OEM products, I would have given it a 5-star rating. I used on a very large and overgrown shrub. It worked well but the extra length would have made it more effective. Other than that, works exactly as described. I gave it a five star for durability but have only used it once. I hope to get years of service from it.

extended reach really helps pruning trees and wide sections of bushes
For the price, there is not much to dislike. Sure I wish the blade was another 6 inches longer but then of course the price would probably double and the weight would be excessive when attached to your trimmer. Thus far I have used it a total of about 6 hours around my yard to prune my trees and bushes. True after about 10-15 minutes of constant use the mechanism that holds the blade and grease gets fairly hot. I'm not concerned about it burning me but rather want to make sure the mechanism doesnt get hot enough to lock up the blades. With that said, I end up setting trimmer down every 10-15 minutes for a few minutes anyways as it does get heavy as most of the weight is at the end so if you have it extended straight out you may have to use a harness to put the weight on your shoulders as opposed to holding it just with your arms. As long as you make sure its has grease (very easy to pump more in via the zirc) I dont think heat will effect the mechanism and blades. Well worth the price. One more note when attaching it to your trimmer the rod that extends down the shaft can fall out so you have to make sure its pushed back into place before you attach it.

Travail bien!

Great value for your money
At the time of writing a review, this hedge trimmer is well priced for what you get. It is slightly shorter than competitors in blade length, but in my opinion that’s a plus. It makes the trimmer lighter and easier to handle. The trimmer is surprisingly well built for the money and as others have pointed out omits some sort of stopper on the drive shaft. Not the end of the world and a minor sacrifice compared to all the places where they didn’t skimp out. My unit came pretty well greased internally, but I did add a little. The gears are well made, the extension is aluminum, the articulation mechanism is very solid. The blades are as sharp as any other (they’re not razor blades) so there’s no knocking them there. Overall very well made, and better quality than I’d expected. Very easy to use because of its shorter blade length. For around the house, especially if you have a big hedge to trim this is a must have!

Sturdy, well built, good value
I used it on a Greenworks 80v trimmer. Works well. Cut about 150 Ft of 12 foot Hedges. No problem. For the price, you can't beat it. Oil the blades every 20 minutes or so. That's usual practice for all hedgers. It can use a quick sharpening but no complaints. So 4.5 stars.

very dull blades
overall quality feels like china obviously. this this wouldn't be such an issue if the blades didn't feel like they were as dull as a butter knife. ended up getting an echo brand version , which is the original this was a knockoff of.

Does not work with echo pas 225
Does not fit a echo pas 225. However it will work if you file down the pole shaft and drill a new hole for the pin
