Replaces damaged Fixer 3 (older model)

I have had the Topeak front basket (TB2001) on the bike since 2007. It has worked very well for me. However, a recent incident broke the original plastic basket attachment (Fixer 3). I wasn't sure if this part would work as a direct replacement but it does and attached properly to the original basket. The only problem was finding a combination of parts to make it fit my handlebars. After much trial and error, I found that cutting the included rubber pads in half allowed the bar brackets to close properly and hold firmly.

If you just have the basket you need this bracket.

Liked this product worked out very well on my bicycle, basket attached easily to the mounting plate.

It works with modifications

The biggest flaw in this design is the brass nut assembly that gets tightened by a provided steel bolt tightens on to the handle bars. My first go at tightening the bracket on to my handle bars it got stripped. I had do to some modifications. Aside from that the actual design of the basket brackets are very sound.

Great company

Great company! One of the furrels came loose when I was installing this product. I contacted Topeak, to see if I could get a new piece with a furrel. They sent a whole new piece, at no cost!

Straight Handlebars Only

Could not secure the mount to slightly curved handlebars on my daughter’s bike. Mount broke when I tried to force the screw to close the clamp around the bars. I couldn’t remove the screw so I had to snap the product in half to get it off the bike.

Product returned as was received damaged

What should have been a simple purchase of a bracket to secure the basket to the bike, was received damaged, bolt cross threaded and unable to remove - so returned for full refund

Junk. Bad Design

Rotates around bars when basket is installed . Tried all the inserts, the mount still rotated. Can’t even support an empty basket much less one with a load. Nice basket, garbage mount. Should be zero stars
