Disappointed
The micro adjust would spin due to vibrations from the machine so it was constantly changing the depth. I sent it back for a refund

Good router
I bought this because I tore up a bunch of cedar from my 100+ year old house and turned it into shiplap for some ceilings. I love this tool. It took some getting used to but now I find excuses to use this over my Dewalt and Makita routers. My only complaint is that the on/off switch is clumsy, but this router is designed to go in a table and I use it primarily free-hand. The switch makes sense when it’s in a table. It brought some fun back into my projects and I’m truly sad when I finish cutting and have to put it away.

Maybe the best router made.
This is my second Triton router, the other one being the larger 3.25hp model (mounted in a router table). I needed a plunge router with a round base. Every other router has a flat side on the base which makes it more difficult to use in jigs that align with the base instead of the a collar. It has plenty of power to do just about anything you would want to do safely with a handheld router and would probably be plenty for mounting in a router table (it comes with the above table hand crank, which works perfectly). I understand the idea behind the safety cover on the power switch but it does sometimes make it awkward to operate. There are plenty of reviews online that show the more common features of this router so I won’t get into it in this review. I do like the gear driven knob to raise and lower the bit and the lock is in a very reasonable position to operate without having to look over the other side of the router. I really enjoy that it has a dust collection hook up already and it comes with the edge guide base with a circle cutter guide built-in. If you were looking for one router to do it all in your shop, whether a home shop or professional, I could highly recommend the Triton as my other one has been working hard for several years now. Just for comparison I do also own 3 Porter Cable 690’s (the 90th Anniversary version), 1 DEWALT DW621 and 2 Bosch 1617’s with the plunge and fixed base.

Mostly a great router
I bought one of these for my router table and it has been a total joy to use. Bits are easy to change and elevation changes are quick and accurate. I ran a second dust hose for the opening in the Plexiglas shield and dust collection is now perfect. I love the router so much that I bought a second one to use for hand held routing. That is where I am having problems. I encountered the plunge binding - which is common to plunge routers - but solved that with some spray dry lube. But it is very tricky to release the router head to start the plunge (while also turning the switch on) .... so far I have just used it for edging. While I like the large hole in the base for bigger bits, it becomes a safety hazard when routing to a corner. They really should offer multiple base plates. I think the Triton set of bushings is too expensive and poorly made. The industry already has 2 styles of bushings. Please make an adapter for PC bushings or Bosch bushings and be done with it. One last thing::: The fence has no fine adjustment.

Loaded with features you don't think you will need.
This is possibly the most versatile router in this price range. This is my first router, but it was simple to setup and use. 1. The manual is pretty bland. The features are explained more thoroughly in many woodworking videos online. 2. If the power button's gate is open, you cannot plunger the router to the depth for changing bits. It took me a while to figure this out. It is part of the safety features as well as the table mounting convenience features. If the router is at max depth, the collet locks in place via a plunger activated when the router base contacts the router body. This also locks the power button gate. This is really convenient for changing bits with just one wrench. 3. This comes with a regular edge guide as well as a hand crank for adjusting the router depth when mounted beneath a table. 4. It is not as loud as you might think it would be until you start cutting. 5. The dust collection port does not fit my older shop vac's hose. All in all, the only down side is the overall weight of the tool. It seems heavy, but for a router this strong and seemingly durable, that'a the price you pay.

Superb for the weekend warrior
I'll just briefly echo some of the comments of other satisfied folks: 1) has a "soft start" and doesn't jerk you when you start it 2) very easy to replace a bit - one tool only 3) when mounted on a Kreg table insert it works perfectly. You can do everything above the table. 4) has plenty of power for all but the heaviest tasks 5) research showed it performed at least as well as any other competitor and is fairly priced. I was able to find an item from Infinity (3 pc. Triton Router Dust Collection Package) that would attach to the dust port nicely and allow me to use my dust collection system. As of 12/11/20, it was out of stock but it might come back again. Highland Woodworking also has something that might work (Dust Collection Hose Whip for Triton Routers).

and generally it's been great. I love having the option to use both ...
I've had this router for a year now, and generally it's been great. I love having the option to use both 1/4" and 1/2" shafted bits. I've had no problem with it having sufficient power for any project I've taken on. The ability to adjust the depth from below has been great: I have it installed in a router table, and this ability means I could save the money that I would otherwise spend on a router lift! When you raise the collet (on my table), the shaft locks making it easy to change bits. Routing has been easy and accurate with this tool. On the downside, since I do have it in a table, I'd like to use the Kreg power switch I've installed on my table to control both the router and the shop vac I use for dust. But the safety interlock on this router won't let you do that: if you leave the power switch on the router locked "on," you can't raise the collet sufficiently to change the bits. I'm sure it's a "safety" feature, but it makes it much less convenient to use on a table. With that problem I can't give this router 5 stars. It still beats my old Ryobi router.
