Mostly great stools but the casters designed wrong

Overall these are decent shop stools for the money and I'd buy them again if I need more. That said, I bought two of these and each had a challenge with some of the parts (appears to be an issue with the manufacturer quality control process). The first had a standard hex nut for the casters and it screwed down okay but with the way the bottom of the foot is designed, there's really no way to tighten it down without adding some washers on the top and bottom so the hex doesn't have a big gap between. The second stool came with cap/dome nuts instead of hex nuts for the casters so it's not even close to tight (pic included). If I use them as-is, the angle of the caster is going to break the weld on the bottom like some of the other reviews show. I’m not going to bother sending them back just due to that so I'm using them without casters until I have time to run by the hardware store and grab some other parts to make them work. A better design would be to either have the hex nut for the caster welded to the inside of the foot so you can just screw it in with the little wrench it comes with OR to have a round hole on the bottom of the foot (the size of the caster bolt) so you can at least tighten the nut on the top properly.

Yes, but...

Of the four companies selling the same stool in various colors, this one promised up-dated casters to solve the frequently mentioned problems with the original ones. All was well except that one caster was quite difficult to mount as it had a mis-formed collar. I got it on. The stool seems sturdy and is stable.

Poor Quality, NOT as Described

I think this is the first negative review I've ever had to leave. I ordered it for a surprise for my husband. I was so disappointed when I opened the box. The seat was CHEAP hollow plastic, not fabric as described, the casters were almost impossible to get installed. Now that's it is assembled, it's wobbly. Very poor quality. Unfortunately, returning isn't an option. It would be impossible to get it apart and fit back in the box. So if you are looking to buy this, and it's over $30-35 dollars- take a hard pass. Learn from my mistake.

DO NOT PURCHASE THIS ITEM!

I should have heeded the other reviews of this rolling stool. It looks to be well assembled, but the engineering of the caster wheels to the bottom of the legs is inexcusable bad. First of all, the thickness of the sheet metal where the caster wheels are supposed to attach is about 1/8" thick. Unfortunately, the height of the hex nut that inserts into the 1/8" piece is about 3/16" tall, which means that you can never tighten the locking nut tight enough to allow the caster to seat firmly against the end of the 1/8" metal leg. I happed to have a different set of casters in my tool chest, so using some washers I was able to attach the casters to the 1/8" plate, but as can be seen in the third image, the first time I sat on it and tried to roll around the garage floor, the 2 spot welds let go and the caster wheel folded to the inside rendering this product useless. I am extremely disappointed in Amazon for continuing to carry this terrible product, it is a complete waste of $100 and I will in the future pay closer attention to the reviews by others as if I had, I would have seen this was rolling stool was a problem and made a different purchase.

Terrible

The wheel hardware did not fit and was useless. I had to purchase new casters separately and modify the hardware to make things work. Although the item is sturdily built the hassle of the supplied hardware not fitting plus the extra cost means I would not recommend. I am using it but only cause I can fix things myself and, for me this was less headache then trying to return it.

I was very satisfied with a strong looking seat… FAIL!

I had purchased this seat six months ago, and very pleased with the robust looking seat. My son and I are both over 6 feet tall, so I wanted a seat that without out-perform most other seat and I was willing to pay for it. I thought this was the seat but today I have been sorely disappointed. Now I realize the wheels are attached with a very thin weld, and certainly not worthy of the advertised, weight limitations.
