Received a defective unit (update review)

Plugged the battery into the parent unit went on and after a few seconds made a weird sound and the screen faded until it went black. Plugged the unit to charge it but there is no charging indicator light whatsoever. Contacted both VTech and Amazon for support. Will update with the outcome. UPDATE: I reached out to Amazon customer support, since I live overseas, they offered me two options; first contact Vtech directly and if they didn’t offered a solution, they would help me out. After contacting Vetch via mail, they sent me some questions and asking for other stuff, they sent me a new package at no charge. So far the monitor and camera works great! It has really good image quality and has basic functions, just what my wife wanted.

Horrible battery but overall good product

Terrible battery. But as long as you always leave it on the charger it’s fine. Mine will be fully charged and if you take it off charger it lasts maybe 5-10 minutes and it’s dead. This isn’t a huge deal because I just leave it on the charger next to my bed and if I need to move it I just have to always have it plugged in. But if you are going to need to take this outside or have it unplugged then don’t get it. It has to stay plugged in at all times to work. Other than that it works great. I am still giving it 4 stars. Because plugged in, it works perfectly still after 2 years.

Great deal!

This monitor has been perfect for us! Our house is just over 1000 square feet and even though it’s small I couldn’t hear my child when they woke up. This provides peace of mind and makes me feel better knowing what is going on in their room. The night vision works great and the sound is clear.

Batteries don't last long.

I got this to use in the garden to monitor my produce stand, but it doesn't really work for that. I is a good monitor if you're using it in the house though.

Horrible battery

The battery life on this product is awful. I charged it all night the first night I used it. When my baby got up at 4 in the morning I unplugged it because the battery was fully charged. I kept it on eco mode to save the battery. When my baby got up at 8 am the battery had already lost a bar so I turned it off. When I turned it back on a couple hours later to put my baby down for a nap the battery was already completely drained. This product arrived on Tuesday and I’ve pretty much had to keep it plugged in the whole time so that it’ll have a charge for when I need it. Besides that the monitor is pretty easy to use. Not really keen on the way sounds turns off when the screen is on. I’m not so sure I would recommend this product.

Wanted to love it

I loved this product when I first opened it last month. Kept the wrapper on the screen up until this weekend. No scratches or dents but all of a sudden the screen had lines when I woke up. Still can faintly see my baby and the sound and everything works but because now I’m stuck with a faulty screen. Gave it 3 stars cause it was perfect up until the screen went. Mind you it’s been used daily for the last month but still don’t understand why it would just go distorted

Better than the other brands for that price range but still sucks

Over all I feel ripped off with this purchase but settled with this one because it’s better than the other few in its price range. I should have paid an extra $100 to get a good one. Vtech products aren’t great to begin with but you’d assume their baby monitor would be better quality than their toys.. picture quality is good in day mode but in night mode if it’s not at the perfect distance from the baby it’s like looking at an ultrasound trying to decipher where the head is and if there’s a baby there or if it’s just the design on the bedding. But I do love the lullabies (my baby can’t sleep without #4) and kept the monitor because you can choose if it stays on or not

Es justo lo que se ofrece, no necesita WiFi, tiene un alcance perfecto y la imagen es muy clara al igual que el audio. Muy necesario para cuidar a tu bebé sin estar pegada a él todo el tiempo.

Terrible battery life, poor night vision picture quality

I like most of the features available on this monitor but there's a few things that are really annoying: - Terrible battery life (have to leave it plugged in most of the time) - Very grainy night vision picture - LOUD beep when you turn it on and every time you move through the different menu options
