Not the same quality as RES abs would not recommend

I had several pair of RES splint boots and loved them. Excellent quality for the price. I was looking to add white to my performance collection when I learned RES sold the design to Weaver and they assured me they would be the same. I was able to purchase one pair from RES. It took me quite some time to find a set made by Weaver that were white. These are not the same boot. The once wonderful elastic closure is less than ideal and now extremely cheap in feel and function. The wonderful design RES created is no more. The size and shape is slightly off and the elastic is so unnecessarily long. The RES boots are a neoprene and leather combination that are nice and supple, the Weaver boots are just neoprene and a plastic pad and were extremely stiff. Metal rings were replaced with plastic. Weaver, whatever you did, you took a great thing and totally changed it for the detriment of the product. Would not buy again. These are not the same as RES.

Sturdy and lightweight, nicely made

I wanted to write a review because I am happy to find a good quality but still basic splint boot ., i.e. not a sport or support or therapy boot. I am replacing a set of ProChoice Ventech splint boots, which are not made anymore. I bought size Small based on Weaver's size chart, horse is 14.2 hh Paint with average bone. These boots are small at first glance, but fit well once on, right where you want them. Easy on and off. Not sold on the removable fasteners yet, time will tell. For the price a great buy, too bad my local tack stores don't offer size I need in so many cases, so I bought online.

They fit small

Barely fit my small boned 14 H horses. I got size Medium. Like them and good value for the money.

Medium is probably more like pony size.
