Silly toy

The toy is ok, it works, but is not very useful to make ice cream mainly because of the quantity that you can make with this. OK, is a toy and to play is fine, but your child will expect to make at least 4 cups of icecream and you will only get one befor repeating the whole procedure again. It doesn't come with any preparation nor the instructions to make a good cream preparation for this maker.

Horrible Mess

I just received this product about an hour ago and once I just looked at it and thought ????????‍♀️ “I’ll give it a try to make the kids happy.” I’m completely disappointed and frustrated at the same time. It tells you it doesn’t come with food, yes, I knew I’d have to make my own mixture. I went to the store and got rock salt, sugar, milk, cream and some chocolate and strawberry syrup. I even even bought some frozen peaches and strawberries thinking when this comes. “I got this.” Ok so you are supposed to figure out your own mixture with not enough space to do it. It was spilling out over and i thought seriously! I didn’t even put much of anything in there hoping it would still taste good and most of all turn out right for the kids. I had a liquid mess spilling out all over and down my table onto the floor. If it wasn’t for my Dog I would have had to clean it all off the floor before I mopped. Lol but seriously Big disappointment and I would not even rate this kids ice cream maker one star if I didn’t have to just to get to the writers review because I honestly don’t want anyone else throwing their money away. Sure when I purchased it, it was a bit over $13 but $13 is not much money but means a lot at the same time in the world we’re living in now. So big ???? The only reason I bought it was because it’s all they had available at a price my daughter could spend with her birthday money. Definitely getting her a better one. They are actually hard to find currently I don’t know why. ????‍♀️

Messy but worth the fuss.

The custard would spill out a little as I turned the barrow, but the ice cream textures both soft and hard came out superb. My granddaughter was fascinated and enjoyed making and eating the ice cream. She asked if she could take the toy home. It is east to assemble and simple to use. I used a recipe off the internet that ended up tasting better than any ice cream I've purchased. I think it provides a great science lesson for small children also. If you don't mind a little spillage It is well worth the cost.

Great product and great gift for kids my son his friend play with it for two hours they made vanilla and chocolate ice cream it’s a really good bonding time with the kids I.

I have to remember this is a TOY

This ice cream maker is fun to set up and get the ice cream custard together, but it does not work well. The packaging is VERY deceptive, making it look like there will be a lot of ice cream when in reality you get 1 tablespoon of ice cream from the enclosed recipe. Purchase this product if you want to show kids how ice cream is made the old fashioned way. Don't expect a lot of product. I will keep it and try to use more of the custard so the something remains in contact with the chilling cylinder.

WHAT A WASTE OF MONEY!!

I don't usually write negative reviews, but I wanted to spare others the same disappointment I experienced after several attempts to make ice cream with this contraption. The concept is not bad, but the flimsy, dollar-store plastic structure is ill conceived and not capable of making ice cream. Here's how it works: Mix milk, cream and sugar to make 1/2 cup. Put the mixture in the freezer for 30 minutes. Fill the tiny metal cylinder with crushed ice and ice cream salt. Pour the milk/cream mixture on top of the cylinder, and it slides down the sides to collect in a small space under the cylinder. Turn the crank for 3 minutes...and you're supposed to have ice cream. (The pictures on the box show children with cups of soft serve-type ice cream in huge swirling mounds. ) This is a great example of deceit in advertising! What really happens is that all of the cream mixture stays under the cylinder and never freezes. A very small amount adheres to the cylinder and does freeze. That will give you about 1/2 TEASPOON OF ICE CREAM, if you are even able to scrape that much off the cylinder. Anyone who is willing to give this a decent review has either not used it yet, or is related to the manufacturer. Buyer beware: Don't waste your money. I returned the item immediately after I realized it was not capable of making ice cream!
