Great cheap basic cover for storage in garage

Good cover if you don't want to spend a lot of $. I got this for a Powerland 6500 watt generator that will be stored in my garage. I originally thought I'd store it outside near the generator hook-up switch for the house. But, in looking at reviews of many generator covers, NONE seemed to be really appropriate for long-term outdoor storage. And some of these covers cost $50 or more. Also, thinking about possible (probable) mouse damage to the cover and possibly to the generator, I decided it's probably not a good idea to store the generator outside, in a very wooded area, with just a flimsy vinyl or cloth cover. I know that my grill covers last only a few years, so these generator covers are about the same -- maybe less sturdy. Anyway, after deciding to keep the generator in the garage, I just needed a cheap cover to keep dust/pollen/ etc. off of the unit. Maybe I don't even really NEED it, but I do use the garage for occasional woodworking projects, and the garage items seem to always get covered with dust, etc. An occasional mouse, also, causes problems. So, for this garage storage purpose, I couldn't find a better cover. It is fairly sturdy, easily fits over the gen. It is a bit large (tall) for my gen (no big deal). The elastic holds onto the bottom of the gen, touches the floor, and there is a bit of extra space at the top. I can probably fold up the bottom if I want to. I have my doubts about using this cover for long-term outdoor storage. It would definitely last a year or two. UV light may eventually destroy it, not to mention mice or other critters. But, this would apply to any of the soft covers. The elastic bottom would not likely hold up well to high winds. If using this outdoors for long-term, I would strongly suggest you use a strap around it to keep it from possibly blowing off your gen. for long-term outdoor storage, I see online that there are hard-case enclosures for generators (expensive) or you could make your own from plywood or re-purposing a small plastic storage shed. Still have the problem of mice possibly making their home in these, though.

Nice Heavy Cover for a 10,000 watt Generator

Nice quality and durable cover for my 10,000 watt Gentron generator from Sams Club. When I bought my generator the price and sizing of generator covers was all over the place. After doing multiple measurements and reading countless reviews I decided to go with this one. I'm glad I did as it is nice and thick while flexible too. The cover fits over the generator nicely and leaves a good 4 inch space between the floor and the cover allowing air movement preventing moisture from forming. PROS: - Durable - Thick yet flexible - Fits Sams CLub 10,000 watt generator nicely - Allows ventilation space at the bottom - Black color CONS: - None

decent dust cover

This is a decent and not expensive dust cover for my 6500-Watt portable generator. When not in use, my generator is stored in a garage, so the cover never really sees weather. The cover fits well, and I think it would hold up OK in rain and snow for short periods, but it is made of a relatively thin material (thinner than my barbecue grill cover), and I don't believe it would be good for long-term outdoor storage. It will resist normal wind, though, since it has an elastic bottom hem which holds it onto the generator. Note that this is only a storage cover, not to be used for a generator in operation.

Good value; sturdy, capable fabric; seems well stitched

I purchased this cover for my Ford FG3050P generator, purposely oversized so I'd have room to tuck my gas can & heavy duty contractor grade 50' extension cord inside (see pics), and it works very nicely for this use. The fabric feels sturdy and rigid enough to hold up to the minimal debris in a semi-sheltered outdoor area, and yet I don't have any trouble conforming it around the generator and gas can. Of course time will tell if it holds up to all four Midwest seasons, but the price is right and the generator itself was only $200 (special purchase from Menard's), so will consider the pair a pretty good value if they last 5 years.

Best of 3 covers bought.

Best of 3 covers bought. Does not leak. Our genset has concave fuel tank top that could let much water into fuel tank but this cover can hold a puddle of water atop tank over 2 days while tank remains dry. Elastic edges stretch around tires & keep cover on genset while traveling hundreds of miles in pickup bed. Two other more expensive covers were returned for tearing when first installed, not being water tight & not staying on genset during travel. Bigger than expected based on picture.

Good, but... I own the same generator as the one in the product’s picture. The cover is way too big for it. The measurements are listed , but I assumed it would be a perfect fit. Partly my bad. Otherwise it’s ok.

Generac GP5500 fit perfectly!

Fits perfectly over the Generac GP5500. now it doesn't tie down, but does the job, fits like a fitted sheet does on a bed. I have it sitting on the back porch, not in any sunlight or rain, so I cannot attest to how it would hold up. Still, it fit very well and looks great! My wife did not even know what it was sitting on the porch :)

Good value - happy with purchase

Cover is relatively well made. It is a bit too tall for my generator but otherwise fits well. It does not look to be very durable for outdoor storage and would probably only last a couple of seasons but should work well for indoor use.
