If you can't get your foot wet this is good

But the rubber seal is quite tight, I don't see how you could get it over a cast without help-with my husband and jy 4 fingers to pread the gusset it went on OK. It is a little tight, but keeps the water out during a shower. Worth the money, much better than using a grocery plastic bag and tape.

It Works!

I had stitches on the bottom of my foot that couldn't get wet for 2 weeks, and my podiatrist recommended this product. I wasn't super worried about the shower as I have a bench and shelves to put my foot on, but these 2 weeks were during some of the hottest days of the summer so I needed something I could have in the pool, on a floatie! It's VERY simple to use and has an excellent seal. I didn't have a cast so I didn't have to try to stretch it too far, but I think it would've been just fine stretching wider to get over a cast. I tested it in the shower first and it worked perfectly. For the pool, I never fully submerged my foot just because I didn't want to chance getting my incision wet, but it did the trick as far as protecting it from splashes and whatnot. The top ring is a bit cumbersome when trying to keep your leg straight, and the seal is tight (as it's meant to me), but it's easy to deal with. I also hobbled around on our concrete patio with it on my foot and it held up like a champ! This is a great product, especially for the price. It's very simple to clean and it will be handy to have around (although hope we don't have to use it)!

A very clever and useful product

In preparation for bilateral foot surgery, I bought two of the Seal Tight foot/ankle cast/bandage protectors. I was really nervous about using these to shower, because my doctor had sternly told me that under no circumstances should the bandages (on both feet) get wet. I had to wear surgical shoes the entire first week after the surgery and was still kind of wobbly when I went to shower on Day #3, so I kept the shoes on and pulled the protectors over them. The foot portion didn't quite fit because the protectors are apparently not made to go over surgical shoes - I thought the shoes would be about as bulky as a cast, but I guess this wasn't the case. However, the collar at the top fit snugly and my bandages stayed dry. Be sure that no portion of the bandage is sticking out above the rubber collar, or it'll act like a wick. The rubber collar is extremely taut, so you really have to stretch the opening to get it over a shoe or bandages; some people might need help with this. I'd also suggest drying the top of the protector before you remove it after you shower - water pools up on the horizontal surface, and you wouldn't want it to spill over your bandage or cast when you remove the protector. Next time (if there IS a next time!) I'd by a larger size to accommodate the surgical shoe better. Overall, this is a very clever and useful product.

Althoughit does keep my ankle and foot dry...

... it is way too tight for a person of my weight with a swollen foot and lower calf. I have osteomyelitis and need surgery to remove the infection but I was told to keep my foot dry before and after surgery until it heals. So, I bought this. I used it twice and the seal is so tight it hurt and I have a ring around my calf like someone tied a string really tight around it. My foot is dry though but I can't wear this anymore. I threw $25 down the drain because I was too lazy to use small garbage bags and water proof medical tape.

This product was exactly as ordered which was for the foot/ankle not full leg, some customers had complained about receiving the full leg although the box was labelled foot/ankle. I wanted the shorter version for the foot so I could wash and shave that leg. If you follow the simple instructions properly you will insure that it is completely waterproof. It is made of very strong material, I have long nails and didn't have any problems with the plastic tearing. The opening on the seal is very small but stretches adequately to fit over bandages but you will need to use both hands to stretch it open. I would advise not using too hot of water in the shower in order to prevent condensation on the inside of bag. After the shower wipe off outside of bag/seal and after removing let the bag dry out on a counter top. This will last for the 2 weeks I need to keep my bandages dry and I will use it again when I have the surgery on the other foot. The price was reasonable for such a quality item and definitely worth it! I am extremely pleased the purchase and it has made the process of showering after surgery extremely easy!

9 months and holding.. Perfect to keep my foot/ankle bone dry.

I purchased an ankle length boot. It has been 6 months and running.. use it every day in the shower. The grip around my leg always feels tight buy I scoot it down closer to my ankle.. no need to cover up leg only toe that cannot get wet. Keep my foot dry, no water gets in. Personally I wish we could get rid of the "hard plastic" dark blue portion..There is no need for me to have it. I'd prefer to just have the stretchy beige material to help pull it over foot and ankle. Actually, if your let brushes against it there is possibility to move causing a gap which could allow water to get in. For me tho there is a tight elastic grip around my lower leg/ankle. Its not too tight because I scoot it down closer to my ankle. Guess I' m a cheater?

Just what I needed!

I recently had surgery on my foot and I needed to keep it dry for 2 weeks. Well, not showering for 2 weeks was NOT an option. I bought this and when it arrived, I was VERY skeptical. I was worried that my foot would still get wet. This is probably the same worry that many other people have. My foot was not in a cast, but was in a boot, so I had to fit the entire boot into the hole. This was somewhat difficult especially in the early days when just the slightest bump would cause excruciating pain, so be aware of that. However, but the 4th day I was a pro at getting it on and off! I took a shower every day for those 2 weeks without a single drop getting on my foot! I was incredibly grateful that the nurse at the surgery center suggest I look for one, because it was a small miracle for me! HIGHLY recommend this product!

I've been using this since having an op on my foot and I have to say it has completely done the job. Its a bit of a pallaver to get on and off given the small hole at the top in order to keep it watertight but once you master it then its no problem. Im not quite sure of the hard blue bit at the top which gathers the water as in my opinion its a bit 'footery' and redundant and think it could have been better designed in that aspect but other than that it's a good product.

Protects bandages or light casts well

Worked well for me. Not a drop of water entered the bag. However, I only had a bandage on my foot and not a cast. The rubber gasket at the opening is quite small but will stretch quite a bit. Other users of this item have told me that the gasket will tear if stretched to an extreme, as could happen if a heavy cast encases your foot.

Easy to use, waterproof is excellent

The waterproof is excellent. I had a toe surgery and I was advised to keep dry of the toe for 4-6 weeks. I have tried using plastic bags for taking shower but it was too inconvenient. Considering that I will need 4-6 weeks before taking shower in a normal way, I purchased this item. It worked just as described and now I can take shower as often as I want and the waterproof is almost perfect. No need for any additional protection.

Absolutely water tight !

Recovering from foot surgery. Had to keep foot dry. Tried the plastic bags with elastics or duck tape : no joy, water was always creeping inside. Bought this protector and voila ! Totally water-tight, I have been able to shower without worrying about my bandage. Surprisingly great product. I wear size 11 shoes / 5'11", size is fine.
