Amazon web page incorrect, the 3039 filters are 4 inch not 5 inch dia.

The filter is good and fits the Pioneer Pet vortex fountain. However the Amazon web page is wrong by describing it as 5 inch diameter (5x5x0.3). I bought a 3rd party 5 inch brand much cheaper in bulk based off this description and those therefore did not fit. These are good, original equipment filters but 4 inch not 5 inch as described

Filters don't stay clean for long

I used my first filter and it barely lasted 2 weeks. I routinely change out the water with fresh water, and clean out my dog's water bowl every 2-3 days to help keep her water clean and prolong the life of the filter. I've used other water filter bowls in the past for my 2 cats and normally the filters don't look this gross so quickly. When I changed the filter it looked like the water bowl hadn't been cleaned in over 6 weeks. For clarification, only the 1 large dog is using the bowl.

I agree with most reviewers. It’s too expensive and requires changing them too often. It’s definitely not debris bc when I rinse the filter daily it’s only a few hairs and maybe a few piece of food particulates. I believe it’s their saliva that causes the filter to clog. First week was ok. But then I noticed the vortex stopped. So I rinsed the filter. Worked for a few more hours but ultimately it got a little moldy/clogged and I needed to change it. So I did. Within 48 hrs it happened again minus the moldiness. It just stopped funneling water bc the filter was clogged on what can only be saliva slime bc as I stated the food particulates and hairs weren’t enough to cause this. At this point it appears to be such a good filter in terms of filtering everything/+saliva that it causes the flow to stop. Rinses will only buy you a bit of time but eventually it’s gonna be a deal breaker bc of the price per filter pad plus the annoyance. I checked online and no one else sells anything similar as per the dimensions. So it appears I will have to make my own filter pads which is doable but the simplicity is gone at this point. Hope this review is helpful guys.

does not last long

your dogs spit will cause this filter to become clogged after about 48 - 72 hours. if you don't mind cleaning it out constantly, go for it

Filter Usage

Either the filters or the fountain are horrible. I am having to replace once a week and I have 2 small Cavapoos. For this price, I would not recommend simply because they are about $3+ per filter and don't last long.

They don’t last!!!!

My filter lasted about 5 days. Not sure if it is the bowl or the filters fault but this will end up being too expensive for long tern

much like an inkjet printer, you'll probably spend way more money on the consumable aka, the filter, in a very short time surpassing the cost of buying the water fountain.

Good deal but doesn't last as long

Love the product but I find with the purchase of the multi-packs, they don't last as long as the individually sold filters. Otherwise great product.
