Didn’t work for me.
Before you disregard this item, I bought it to add to a diy baby gate for the top of my stairs because all the other baby gates have latches that my kids(3 of them 4 and under) were able to figure out within minutes. This product would totally work if it was installed up high on a door where they could reach. Where I tried it, my son was able to reach right over the gate and undo it very easily. So I moved it to the upper part of a bathroom door and when I put it up and tried it it worked lovely. As I closed the door it latched itself. But then my 3 year old son came right along and opened the door(which also has one of those plastic ‘baby proof’ door handles) and the latch popped right off the door. I think it would have probably worked if I hadn’t already stuck it to something else which compromised the adhesive, making it weaker. It also comes with hardware so you have screw it into the door and door jam, but I don’t want to put holes into there so I’m just gonna trash that one. I did buy two more at the same time, so I will try a new one and see if the adhesive is strong enough to hold against my sons apparent super strength. As long as they can’t reach it and they don’t have anything they can push to the door and use as a step stool to reach it the latch should work fine. I’ve had to confiscate their toddler table because they mostly used it to reach things they weren’t supposed to have.

Keeps my baby safe!
My son learned how to climb out of his crib and open his door. The door knob covers didn’t work because he was pulling it from the bottom. This was a last resort because I didn’t want to “lock” him in his room. But it became a safety concern for us because he was coming out of his room and running to the stairs. This lock works perfect! He can still open his door but not enough to get out and it gives us a piece of mind knowing he is safe in his room

Easy to install and works great
Installation was fairly simple, just use the template. It seemed off at first but once I got it up on the door and used it then it made sense. I only used the tape, did not drill holes in my door or frame. Have been using this for a few weeks and it is great. Allows us easy access to the room and keeps the kids out but also keeps them from being able to close the door on their fingers. Added bonus, with how it operates keeping them from being able to close the door shows if they tried to get in when they are not supposed to. Also it auto locks when you close th door so you don't have to remember to lock it again after using the door. Exactly what we were looking for. Possibly update depending on how easy it is to remove when we finally need to and if it damages the door. Unsure yet how strong it is with just the tape if a kid hit the door with their full weight to open but just pulling on the door it will stop.

Good lock
I had the old, metal version, which finally gave up the ghost. It didn’t work on all doors or door jambs, whereas this version seems more flexible. I also like this version because you can close the door (not always with the other version). However, it’s plastic, so it might break more easily. At least my son is older now so he doesn’t push and pull on the door, and my toddler daughter is not strong enough to break it. If they still made the old version, I’d get that because that can easily be removed — I’m not sure how easily the adhesive will come off and if we will have to repaint. But if you have kids, you probably have to repaint anyway, so will cross that bridge when we get there

Quite Convenient
These are nice and convenient. I have two kids sharing a room and I put one of these at a hight where my oldest can unlock it to get out of there room in the morning to go to the bathroom while the toddler can't wander around the house before we wake up. I also have one on my door for work. It can auto latch when you close the door so I can have the door closed and still prevent them from opening the door all the way and wondering in in case I'm in a meeting. At night I just slide the mechanism up so it doesn't auto latch so the oldest one can come in to wake us if needed. Unlatching is also easy, you just have to push on the bottom and it pops off.

Easiest childlock I've ever used
It was super easy to install, but I did need to screw it in and not just use adhesive. Very easy to operate the latch - can do it one-handed. It's much more sturdy than the other childlocks I've used and will definitely be able to last for several years. I'm using it to keep my cats apart, and it opens the door wide enough to let good airflow through, but not wide enough for either of them to squeeze through it. I have large cats, including a Maine Coon, so if you have a really small breed like a Siamese or kittens, it's probably going to leave the door open too far to keep the cats out.

Won't work on a screen door
Bought to use for my screen door however it will not bolt on properly so don't waste your money if that is your intention

Super Loud
The lock works great, only thing is the lock is so loud and there is absolutely no entering the room without waking the child.
