Duped twice. Done with this company.

Heard of this brand on multiple YouTube videos. Supposed to be top of the line for quality and price. I decided to have the old buy Once cry once philosophy, and go with the top tier brand for quality. Extremely disappointed. The first card I ordered had a massive crystal on the side of the 1000 grit, I marked it in red in the picture, I did not see it at first and on my bowl gouge it put a massive scratch so deep I had to take it out on my bench grinder. I immediately put in to have the item swapped assuming it was a fluke, got to love prime as the next day the replacement came in. Immediately I noticed a similar spec this time on the 600 side Marked in blue in the pictures I posted. It’s big enough to put a deep scratch that the 600 grit won’t take off. Tried it on a cheap chisel. Had to go to a coarse stone to get that out. Very disappointed, going to order a cheap Chinese one is it can’t be any worse. Done with trend.

Great for carbide cutters..

Used with Trend lapping fluid and with very little pressure ..... sharpened lathe tool carbide cutters like new

Useful grits and easy to carry in wallet or shop apron pocket.

This fits nicely in your wallet. If you visit friends with beat up kitchen knives, you will become very popular. On receipt, both sides are aggressive, but after a couple of uses the surfaces settle in and sharpen quite predictably. You will want a coarser plate if your target blade is really beat up, but this will maintain an edge or finish up a working blade, or even touch up the carbide of a router bit.

What 1000 grit side ?

This stone has 1000 and 600 grit sides. The 600 side was great. The 1000 grit side not so much. A 1000 grit diamond hone shouldn't put "canyons" in my tools. Factory said that I had to "bed" the diamond in on the 1000 side. Worked on that for over an hour on an older plane chisel. Still had "canyons" . Didn't buy this to work at making it right. Very disappointing. They sent a replacement that was even worse than the first with uneven diamond application. Both went back. Talking to the factory felt like a time warp. Their attitude was fine. Not so much the product.

I would buy again and again.

Bought a set of these to sharpen router bits, drill bit, and saw blades for my table saw and miter saw. Works perfect and way cheaper than spending 90$ for a new blade.

Surface had rough spots on it. It is impossible to sharpen something properly with clumps of the coating sticking up. first you have to level it and then you find the coating is super thin. I mean really really thin. I was not impressed at all.

Good for Sharpening Carbide Turning Tools.

A very nice diamond stone. I have been using it to sharpen my chisels, plane irons, carving tools, turning tools, and carbide turning inserts. Very nice small size.

Bought the whole Trend lineup and returned it all

I watched the prices for months waiting for the what I thought was the best deal on the Trend 8x3 bench stone and the 2 credit card sharpeners (300/600 and 600/1000). All had at defects and what appeared to be coverage issues of the diamond on the plate. All returned for a refund. I do not recommend.
