Check the interior dimensions

I was really excited to get this crate for my dog and improve the look of our bedroom. The dimensions listed for the product (35.43″D x 21.65″W x 23.50″H) were close to the wire crate we already have - an inch or so shorter, and an inch or so less wide. But when I assembled the crate, I realized those were EXTERIOR dimensions, and the inside was way too small for my dog (~45lbs). You lose a ton of space in the width because of the door mechanism, and you lose a significant amount of height because most of it is accounted for in the furniture look of the crate. So for reference, the INTERIOR dimensions are 34″D x 17.5″W x 19.5″H.

GREAT CRATE FOR MY STANDARD POODLE!

OKay so they "SAY" the dog should be able to STAND in their crate.... well I am not sure how many wolves or foxes dig "stand height dens" to be honest! My standard is about 17" now and she goes in here and snuggles down for the night, enjoying her "den" by going to the back part. If your puppy is REALLY young, a regular crate would be good until 4 months I would say. Ours was 4 months when we put her in here. She has LOTS of room to move around and FULLY stretch out and has NEVER had an accident. We are looking forward to the day we can let her have full roam of the house at a year! Until then, she is safe and secure at night and for the few hours here and there during the week that I cannot keep an eye on her. Preventing BAD habits is easier than undoing them and that is what a crate is for. I bought a long cushy pad and she has her finding Nemo blanket in there with a chew toy and her lamb chop and never fusses!

Love, love, ❤️ it!

I love the sliding door. That's was the big selling point for me. Dog chews the wood on the sliding door tho. I'm still working on that with no chew sprays. Not sellers fault. It's a bit week in spots. Put nothing remotely heavy on top of it tho. It makes the door get stuck or wobbly. Pieces fell off but I used wood glue n tiny nails to keep them on. So far, so good. All n all, I'm happy with my purchase. I'd definitely recommend.

Not the best design

This is a nice product. I do like the fact that it looks like a table and that the door slides in to get it out of the way. However, the interior is made of the laminated wood so that if any water gets spilled or your doggy has an accident, it bubbles up. A nice black plastic interior would have been much more utilitarian. Also, if your doggy makes a mess in it, with the way the door is designed, it is impossible to clean all the way to the front of the cage. Some mess will inevitably be left under the door. And since there is a part of the door that sticks out in the cage, my bored puppy chewed the wood on it. I really like the looks of this crate and the size is perfect for two small dogs to share. I purchased one to try it out before buying a second one for my third, larger bulldog. But since the inside isn't doggy- and moisture-proof, I don't think it would be a good investment. Overall it is very sturdy and attractive.

LOVE the side sliding door!

The crate came quickly. Fairly easy to assemble. Very nice looking, so I’m okay with using it as end tables. My dog is only about 10 lbs, so it’s kinda big, but that’s better than too small. She’s very well behaved and crate trained, so I don’t worry about her doing any damage. Others mentioned the latch was not great. It won’t be a problem for me, but does seem that there could be a latch that feels a little tighter/secure fit.I absolutely LOVE the side sliding door. I wanted to be able to leave the crate open during the day without the door in the way or getting pushed closed. This is the PERFECT answer! (P.S. She only looks sad because we dropped one of treats on the floor and she could see it) Update: I have 3 of these crates and had glass tops made for the tops of the crates. Protects the finish and looks great. Highly recommend doing this. These are working just as I hoped. My dogs go in by themselves during the day to nap because the doors are open ....so they stay off my furniture! Yay!!

Super nice!

This is actually a beautiful piece of furniture! I bought it because anything is more attractive than a regular dog crate but I did not expect it to be so solid and beautifully crafted. The pocket door is also an awesome feature so it can be left open when it’s not in use. Works great both as a sofa side table and a generous sized dog crate for our 20lb Jack Russell. It was difficult to find a mattress or bed that fit well, however. You need something that’s about 12x24.

Great replacement for wire crates

I had someone assemble this for me because I have absolutely no talent for it. It took about an hour. It’s a great looking piece, good size. I have had a problem with the latch falling off and don’t know if that’s a faulty design or the fellow who assembled it. As I said, these things are not my forte. But I am pleased that it is a handsome and sturdy way to crate a dog. Wire crates really detract from the look of a room.

Good crate that looks like furniture!

I bought this specifically for the slide door. It stays out of the way when open. Directions were not clear and were a little confusing as to where to install screws. Read carefully and really look at the photo and actual items before starting. Very sturdy, looks great, and is multi-functioning as a big side table. The only issue is the bars inside isn't super comfy for the dog, so wrap a blanket around the perimeter.

Amazing crate

Love this crate. Looks like a nice piece of furniture. Good quality very sturdy and great detail. Would recommend to anyone who wants a NICE dog crate that isn’t an eye sore. Pup loves it too !!!

My Morkie-Poo and I love this crate

Great for small well behaved dogs. I am so glad I got this. Everyone who sees it comments how nice it is. I got a piece of glass for the top as someone else suggested which will save the top from scratches. The only reason I gave just 4 stars is because the set-up instructions are very difficult to follow.

Flimsy latch

It takes a while to assemble and is sturdy and nice looking. The latch, however is very flimsy and a strong pup could eventually break free
