Love this Sauce Pan
The All-Clad D3 3-Ply Stainless Steel Sauce Pan is wonderful. I like the size (4 qt) and that it has a second handle on the opposite side. This pan heats evenly and is not too heavy like a different brand that I had to send back. Would highly recommend.

A Good Solid pan
My go-to pans this size were both 70 years old. They were wedding gifts to my mother and MIL; very heavy and sturdy. Finally, the handles literally fell off. What could possibly replace them? This pan! It's a good, solid pan that heats evenly and looks pretty. Love the "helper handle", too. It may last 70+ years!

American made quality that will stand the test of time
Solid, quality construction. You can tell that these will last a lifetime, and be passed down for generations to come. Handles are solidly attached. Lids fit snugly like a glove. Nothing flimsy about these. If you take the time to learn how to properly use stainless steel, you'll not have any problems with food sticking, either. Spend the money now, one time, and avoid the ever increasing cost of buying lesser, inferior products again and again every few years. These are an investment in your future gastro-happiness.

Love the pans, but the handles are awkward and uncomfortable to hold and lift pan
Following instructions and recommendations for seasoning and cleaning pans is important to keep pans looking good and easy to clean up. The pans a great - even heating and solid good quality. However, the handle design is rather uncomfortable and not ergonomic. Both my husband and I noticed this right away. I'm looking for some silicone handles I can keep on them or handy to make them more comfortable.

Heavy, long handle
It's strange how much the "status" of cooking with a $175 pan can ease the banality of cooking rice or mac-and-cheese day after day for ungrateful children.

All the reviews say that this is the best --- and they are right!
I have several All-Clad frying pans, including their amazing non-stick 12" skillet. However, I've never owned any of their sauce pans. I needed a good sauce pan to use with my new Max Burton portable induction cooktop. This particular model is at the top of almost every cookware review as the best sauce pan you can buy. Cook's Illustrated has it at the top of their ratings. Sometimes these reviews are correct, and sometimes they are not. In this case the reviews are correct: this is the best sauce pan you can buy. It heats evenly; it perfectly transfers heat from both a gas stove and a portable induction cooktop; and it provides a beautiful, smooth stainless surface that doesn't interact with any food. The lid fits tightly for those times when you want to simmer for a long time without losing much liquid. My only issue -- and almost everyone mentions this -- is that the handle is too long. I guess this was done to keep it out of the heat, and also to let you easily get to the pan if it is placed on the back burner on a large commercial stove. On my more modest home stove, this really isn't needed. The long handle does get in the way of the faucet during cleaning. However, while cooking, the handle is not an issue, and the pan's cooking performance really can't be beat. This is a great pan.

What's not to love!
This is All-Clad. Yes, it's pricey, but it will last forever We cook at home more often than not. I'm only sorry that I didn't have this product for decades. This helps complete my set of All-Clad. It's worth every penny!

Perfect large saucepan.
I'm not ashamed to say I'd been ogling this saucepan for well over a year before breaking down and buying it. We were using an elderly Revere Ware 3 quart saucepan as our "large" every day pan; if we needed to cook more, we had to trot out the 6 quart stockpot or a dutch oven. What really appealed is the helper handle. Otherwise, a fully-laden 4 quart pan would weigh 8 pounds plus the weight of the pan itself, and be very difficult to handle - probably *impossible* with one hand. All-Clad does sell that size without the helper handle, but this is much easier to use. It can cook enough pasta for my family without dragging out the stockpot and spilling the water everywhere when I try to drain it. It will be great for candymaking (though I haven't tried that yet) - probably even large enough to make a double batch of fudge. It *is* heavy - which I was expecting. It's not the easiest to lift one-handed even when empty. It takes up a fair bit of room in the cupboard - again, as expected given the size. But those are negligible issues, and I foresee using this for many years to come.

A perfect pot
Yes it's expensive, quality usually is. Take care of this pot and you'll be handing it down to your grand kids. It's solid, amazingly built and well designed. That extra lifting handle is great when you have gone crazy and made a ton of sauce. Buy it. Love it.

All-Clad Quality Wins
I purchased this after reading countless reviews and recommendations. Americas Test Kitchen put a number of sauce pans through rigorous trials and this came out their winner. I have had it for a few weeks now, and absolutely love it. The handle though not the most comfortable in your hand allows for a sturdy grip with a full pot.
